Caught a hop to Japan for a weekend....stationed at 121st!!!Wow..sure is a small world...I spent a few months in Ft Sam myself...Reservist training ...even got a free weekend stay at BAMC when I took ill. The class let out in May ..no forgetting that heat. Spent most of my weekends catching the Port Aransas ferry and playing in the surf. Caught a hop from Japan and did a lil shopping in Yongsan late 70's too. Had a friend who worked with the 121st. very small world.
Atta girl!!!I haven't received any response from the reps. but one from our state senator, Johnny Isakson. Mostly standard, outlining the bill, yada, yada and ended with this:
"Currently, H.R. 2058 has been referred to the in the House Energy and Commerce Committee. Should this or similar legislation come up for consideration in the Senate, I will be sure to keep your thoughts in mind as I consider my vote."
I wrote him back, thanked him, and told him I will be sure to keep his thoughts in mind as I consider my vote in 2016.![]()

That will never happen. You will also notice that they don't even acknowledge that the UK studies exists, because those conclusions are a 180 degree difference from their studies and if they try to discredit those studies it will just reveal how biased and flawed their own studies are. So they just bury their heads in the sand and hope that it goes away.US needs to follow UK lead and come out saying vaping is 95-99% safer than smoking
I know...sigh...that's what's so frustrating. UK is doing what's best for their citizens, US is doing what's best for the PAC wallets. That will never happen. I think my sister was at Ft. Sam at that time....or maybe one or two years later. She was a nurse going through basic back then. She was stationed at the Presidio after that. Made it to 1st lieutenant and then resigned her commission. Stayed on working as a civilian in VA hospitals since then (she lives in MD now just outside DC). Her husband stayed in the Army as a doctor and is now a colonel (he is supposed to retire soon). They're both working at Walter Reed.NO WAY!!!! Late 80 to summer 81!!!!
See??? Very small...we could have all been on base at the same time....how bizarre is that?I think my sister was at Ft. Sam at that time....or maybe one or two years later. My wife Julie is so cool about things. I can spontaneously lol and she knows it's one of you girls that cracked me upWhat's even more amazing is that she doesn't smoke or vape!! I'm so lucky to have a girl like that.
