Thank you .....my birthday is tomorrow ....and hubby is not too big on buying presents especially this year cause he can't walk too well. we are not doing anything special except visiting lots of Drs for his operation next week!! My biggie this year was my daughter coming home this weekend which was wonderful. Being lucky makes for a happy day!!
I hope everything goes well for him next week. As far as birthdays... we haven't really celebrated any of ours since we got older, just another day, lol Happy Birthday tomorrow Lady Bear!

Thank you....yeah I know as you get older people don't celebrate birthdays that much but I still try to make them special for my hubby by at least making him a special dinner or giving him a little surprise he wouldn't have got for himself. ..sometimes I'll even bring happy birthday balloons home ...lol....I guess that's the kid lurking in me. !!!!

I've got that kid lurking inside me too but my bf actually asks that I don't do that. If I brought him birthday balloons or presents it would make him mad and he'd just tell me I should have spent the money on something we needed. Then the birthday would be unhappy instead of happy, lol
So, I just tell him "Happy Birthday" when we wake up that morning and we just go about our day. I have to let that kid lurking inside me out at the skate rink or on my bike. And that's ok by me. :D Now, Christmas is another story... I put my foot down there. Presents will be given and gotten! :)

I caught mine shopping for a new wedding band for me a couple days ago, I told him the one I have is fine. Then after shopping around for a while, he realized that the price of gold had gone up and the one I have is fine lmao.
We do birthday presents still, we don't spend a lot in them, this year I spent $40 or less on the knife he wanted and the wood blanks for the handle. My Ninja was quite happy. I got shoes for my birthday, two pairs :D
Our lil dude is who we like to spend our money on when we have it to spare :) I can't wait til Christmas. I wanna get him his bass guitar he's been asking for and a steel guitar. Then at tax time, I'm gonna buy him a drum set! I will never deny my kid the gift of music.

Awwww ...you are a good mom....and music is so fun. I bought an organ for my son when he was young ...it was a nice small one who a friend was selling....he was no more than 12 years old and I never saw him so happy ....took him for lessons and from there ..he plays quite a few instruments ..his guitars being his favorite. He wanted an organ so he cough play in church so we got a copy of the hymnal from the priest and he played those songs really well...nice sweet music until he went to high school and then he switched to both electric and acoustic guitars and from church songs to heavy metal....yikes what a change...he really needed a sound proof room with the amps turned on high..he actually taught himself the guitars and played in local bands. My other son played guitar too and he wanted bongos ...I got him those when he went to college ..lol...too noisy!!!

Hubby doesn't get mad ...he just don't reciprocate.with the presents or little things ....he likes to make me a nice dinner or take me somewhere for dinner ..it just won't be happening this year and I can't blame him...too much pain makes everyone too grouchy...lol

Busted, lol. I know though. Any money for gifting and such we spend on our kids. Really, it's like spending on ourselves because we like to do it. It's like being a kid again seeing them get things we'd have liked.
Music is so important to a child's development. I remember when they decided to cut it out of the public school curriculum here. It caused such an uproar. If I remember correctly yours are home schooled, right? They're getting a much better education than in the system I bet.
