Good Morning Apollonians!!! Everybody in the path of Sandy please stay safe!!

Thanks KK and congrats on the promotion and new thread.

Sandy is headed straight at me. (South Jersey) I have all my battery's charged for my PV's and a case of beer in the fridge. Plus the normal stuff.... bread, peanut butter, junk food and toilet paper. lol.

It's just starting to rain here and the wind is starting to pick up now. Good news is, no class tomorrow! WooHoo!!

I am glad to see you have the priorities set accordingly!! Mine are similar...plenty of drinking water wouldn't hurt either..LOL..although beer works for me.
Thank you very much and be sure to gather all your vaping supplies in one place in case you need to bail.:toast:

Oh yeah, I have water too.

I think I'm pretty much stuck here unless something really serious happens. State of emergency here. No one on the road after 4pm.

Well buckle down and keep us posted...We had a Tsunami warning here for our coastline as a result of an earthquake registering 7.7 about 6 hours from us...but that's about it. Fortunately here in Oregon we don't have to deal with many of the things that others around the Country do...ie; tornadoes...hurricanes..spontaneous combustion and people eating your face off....but it could be worse.

A friend of mine mentioned a Tsunami in Hawaii, but our news is all about Sandy. I haven't even seen that mentioned here. I'll be sure to post when it's over and check in during if I can. Thanks for the well wishes. :)

Good Luck to all you Easterners. Hoping it's not as bad as predicted. If you can scurry out and get some 2 liter drink bottles, empty contents, fill with cold water and throw in freezer. Leave just a little head room for expansion. If you lose power they will keep your fridge freezer cold and foods in fridge cool for some time. We keep 10 frozen at all times and have much use for them almost every month, year round. My neighbors pull out their small generators to use just for their refrigerators. We don't have to do that with the frozen 2 liter bottles.

As we keep our frozen bottles ready for long periods and they thaw pretty frequently we put a drop of chlorine bleach in the water to keep down any cooties.

I do, but that's not quite the same. If you put a glass of chockymilk in the freezer for about 20 minutes, it just starts to form loose crystals of ice that pushes it into the realm of 'crunchy liquid' that's just awesome.

I put mine in a cold cup, those cups with the weird liquid or gel inside them that you keep in the freezer. Milk start to freeze to the walls of the cup instantly, you just stir it and you get slushy choc milk :) no waiting!
