Apollo/Esco e2 tank.. Gurgle & leaks

I won a space needle mod in the Houston Vape meet this past weekend and since day 1 the tank has been leaking from the battery end and I've also noticed that it also starts to collect juice under the drip tip area around the atomizer head.

Is this common? At times I clean it out by blowing through it and I get a good non gurgly vape, but soon after it starts to gurgle a lot then leaks into battery end....

Anyone got any advice on how to fix this? I gave this mod to my wife and I'd really like for her not to be fiddling with it much.
