Greetings fellow vapers,

I've only been vaping a week and off stinkies since Saturday and already my taste buds are coming to life along with a voracious appetite with cravings. My new found favorite is the "dipper platter" at Chilis.

My question to all of you is....did you gain weight after you started vaping? Please forgive me for not searching for the answer. There are probably numerous threads about this already, but my eyes are just too tired to seek them out.

And thanks to all of you who made suggestions about gear on my last post. I've since ordered a 901 atomizer for my manual 808 and a KGO. Just couldn't resist getting a 510 model to open up my vaping horizons. And don't ya know that I really "needed" a backup to my backup?!?

Oh, and I read another heartwarming thread again today from someone looking into getting an Ego and another angel vaporer who lived only 20 minutes away from them donated theirs. Is this forum full of lovely people or what?!?

Happy vaping,
Gloria

Try fresh pressed Safran in curry chicken. I could not taste that while still smoking analogs. These days ... Yumm! I have not gained weight despite eating larger portions. I'm tempted to believe that this is probably due to being more active (thanks to more energy after I quit the analogs). Just increase your level of activity as your energy increases (follow your gut feeling insofar).

Besides the updates to an e-cigarette it's never a bad idea to have some back-ups, a couple spares and maybe an extra or two. It's self-explanatory: What if a really bad thunderstorm moves through - or a blizzard - and takes out the power line and you are left without power for - let's say 2 days - and you can't recharge the battery? And it's really cold - or really raining bad - , so you don't want to sit in the car to use the car charger, right? So you need a lot of spares, back-ups and extras!!!

I am losing weight, I am a sweet tooth gal, and yummy sweet vapes keep me out of the cupboard :p

That's awesome QusieQ! I can see how vaping the sweet juices would help curb a sweet tooth.

Unfortunately I haven't come across any hawaiian pizza, or nacho, or buffalo wing flavored juices.

Ah well, I guess I'll be going on a diet once these cravings pass. I actually lost about 25 pounds when I started smoking 40 years ago and have pretty much stayed at the same weight all those years. I would definitely rather gain a few pounds and deal with that than go back to the stinkies!

I have actually lost weight as well since vaping. Yes, I have my taste buds back, but I just enjoy the foods more! Before it was about eating junk, it all tasted the same. Now I find myself living a healthier lifestyle because things taste so darn good!

I wouldn't be too worried about gaining weight. You may gain a little, but no worries! Once you can breathe again you'll find yourself taking the stairs! ;)

Vape on, friend! :vapor:

There are vendors that make food flavored vape. I can't remember which ones though, hopefully someone will remember and come along to post. I remember seeing hot wings somewhere. I remember seeing baby back ribs, pizza, and many others. Then there are some flavors I just would not give a try. Such as crab or tuna.

Very true and fast food does not taste as good as it use to. Taste wise I could percieve little difference between a dollar Mc Donalds hamburger and one I made myself with fresh choice ground beef. Now the difference is night and day. Think I have stayed the same weight for the first month off cigs or added a couple holiday pounds.

I've lost a couple of pounds in the month I have been vaping! I have a bunch of sweet juices. My faves are Pchela's Famous Five Layer by Mom & Pop Vaping; it tastes like German chocolate cake, Fudge Brownie, and Cantaloupe by Mad Vapes. The cantaloupe is my absolute favorite sweet juice.

Yes I lost weight as well. I was so worried I would gain weight but the opposite happened. I noticed that even tho my taste buds were alive again, I wanted more flavors to vape and not really stuff myself on food. So now when I want something sweet to eat I vape it instead. Apple pie, blueberry pie, all fruit flavors, snickerdoodle cookies, cake, on and on. I started by only liking tobacco and menthol, then I started liking fruits more and now I am really liking the dessert vapes. It is amazing how it helps for both keeping us off analogs but also out of the cupboard and fridge too! LOL bnrk

My wife organized the "Welcome Back Tastebuds Tour", where we go out to eat and try some interesting food. It is great fun! We look for opportunities to try a wide variety of dishes. Food festivals are great, as are the buffets in Indian, Thai, and the various types of Chinese food restaurants. Tapas is great too. So many tastes that I couldn't experience fully before. Luckily, there are tons of diverse restaurants in this area.

I'm keeping the same weight because I can exercise a bit more, now that I can breathe properly.

Who knew quitting could actually be fun? (after the cravings began to subside, of course)

I had strong food cravings for a week or two after my taste buds came back. I doubt it's just from the taste buds - your whole body is adjusting to being free of tobacco and its 4000 chemicals and carbon monoxide etc. We went to a good buffet and i pigged out - for the first time ever my fiance was DONE eating including his dessert and I was still elbow deep in melted butter and some huge shrimp that tasted slightly like lobster haha.

But it wasn't permanent. The extreme food cravings went away in a week or two, leaving me with a more normal appetite (though a desire to cook to make tasty different fresh foods which is cool because I never did the cooking)

Almost seven days for me and my appetite is now in full force. I've been too busy with work to indulge but it feels pretty much the same as quitting cold turkey.

I expected the nic to play a bigger role than it actually does. I typically would eat only 1-2 times per day with analogs. Skipping a meal now is pretty rough. Not sure how I was handling it :)
