Most of you know I'm into high-end RTAs but I picked this up from the entreaties of a wonderful high-end, no clone, B&M.

www.hiddenvape.com

I guess this is one of the newest sub-ohm, big-air, cloud-chasing tank atomizers to be introduced.

Arctic by Horizone Tech-Shenzhen China
www.horizone-cig.com

100% USA made Kanthal
100% organic cotton wick
304 SS
Pyrex tank
3mm sq. air intake holes. 4 holes total for 12 mm sq. total.
AFC
2.5 ml advertised capacity but I can squeeze in 3.
Extra wide bore drip tip.

Available coils:

Single coil-0.2 Ω, 0.5 Ω and 1.2 Ω

Dual coil-0.2 Ω and 0.5 Ω

Coils are vertical.

I received the 0.5 single and 0.2 dual.

Two coils come with the unit.

Retails for $45
$22 for 5 replacement coils.

It is very well built. Very sturdy construction. Threads are nice. Finish is great. The AFC is highly adjustable from completely closed to wide open. The AFC ring stays put. Easy and cool lung hits and Big Clouds with the 0.2 dual coil and AFC wide open. (Not my thing).

Flavor is good. Very good actually. Even better flavor with the 0.5 single coil and AFC closed a bit.

My only complaint is that it whistles. Its not quiet.

ETA: I've now run over 20 mls of Sleeping Dragon Daft Spunk (a custard) through it with no degradation in vapor or flavor.

I believe that the wall of cotton before the coil acts as a filter, thereby reducing gunk factor.

I put on a DT with a smaller ID which really intensified the flavor.

I've yet to have a flood, gurgle or dry hit. This is a really nice unit.

I gotta give a shout out to Hidden Vape in Woodland Hills, California. They have an amazing collection of high-end mods and atomizers and the staff is super knowledgeable. It is a NO CLONE store.

Nice brief Sedge.

I am curious about these latest RTA's with chimney builds and the juice in direct contact with the cotton.

It reminds of the old days using cartomisers and carto tanks which I haven't revisited for close to 2 years. :)

I have just ordered a Kanger Subtank Mini to try.

Not so sure about the OCC heads but looking forward to the RBA head.

Was loving mine until I got the Freemax Starre. Better design, slightly more airflow, double the fluid capacity, better flavor, heads don't take forever to break in, and the same price. Plus I haven't cut my fingers on the tank cap like I have with the Arctic. (just this morning while cleaning it)

Essentially take the Arctic, clean up the sharp edges, double the tank, add knurling and a lock to the airflow ring and you have the Starre. Now I'm resenting jumping on the Arctic bandwagon so fast.

These fast moving subtank wars are getting expensive.
