Are 22650 mechanical's worth it? Or should I get a better 18650?

Hey guys most likely I'll end up getting the big nasty, or whatever 22650 I like most 'eventually', but right now I only have 1 mechanical that I really like to use, and it doesn't always adjust to all of my rda's. To someone like me with vapers OCD, that unflush fit (gap), is annoying as a wasp in your ear.

-I've been looking for a high-quality U.S. made 18650 mod, with at least all copper contacts (silver would be better), all stainless steel, but most importantly the chi-you style positive pin adjustment (where theres a threaded adjustment for your topper, AND an adjuster for bridging the gap to your battery).

And for my aesthetic tastes I've pretty much narrowed it down to the Tree of Life mod, it's exactly what I want, functionally easy and has nice cutouts for gripping the locking ring/top cap, it's a single tube design with no seems for less volt drop, on top of all copper contacts.

-BUT I've always thought about getting a 22650, but that means buying 2 batteries, the charger, and a new mechanical all-together, so it'll be pricey. But if it'll make my vaping life that much easier, I'll definitely go for it. Have you guys noticed any convenience with the 22650's? I personally don't run out of battery life with the 18650's, but I do charge every-single night before bed, and have 1 always on the charger, I think it'd be nice to go a couple of days on one battery, but that leads me to wonder if the volt-drop is alot longer due to it's size?

I've always thought the idea was just cool anyway :p, they look cool because they're huge, you've got a little powerplant below your setup, the only problem for me is that it's not flush! But I can deal with that lol, the Big nasty does a good job at tapering to make it work.

*Does anybody know of a dripper that will sit flush on a 22650? I'm thinking about making my own on my metal lathe I got recently, but I need to find the electrical parts (like the posts, 510 connections/pins etc.).

Do search on 26650 RDA on Google, they are out there. But good luck on finding Sony 26650 from legit vendors, I think it was vaper joe who stated sony discontinued them. I would get the Tree and wait on all the new 26650 mod coming out, then decide. I know you'll get both.

Believe me dude I research everything I buy in the vaping world for at least 3 hours before coming to ECF, I know of every 22650 in existence, even though there's only like 15 of them. I'm a huge fan of Super-T manufacturing, so I think if Im going to spend big bucks for a 22650 tube, they have my money, the thing is beautiful, even though it has brass on it.

Although the 18650 precise simplicity doesn't have brass on it, and looks even better, and it's got a palladium coating on it's connections. I just can't bring myself to buy a 135$ tube (although I'm sure the craftsmanship is worth it) when there's billions of 18650 tubes, at least 22650's are somewhat rare.

~Up here in Alaska our vaping market isn't uh...competitive to say the least :p, it's really easy to find 22650's because the vendors scrounge for them, and then there's only a handful of vapers looking for them, my favorite brick and mortar has a good pile of sony's.

That ox is sweeet.

Haha I take pride in smelling like pennies, actually my favorite mechanical I own right now is the LE red copper Stingray from JD mods, it has the best firing switch in the world and a volt drop of .07, the button (which is really the only part you pay for) seriously feels touch sensitive, there's like no throw on that beezy, and it can be set down without firing. I can't bring myself to get another copper because this ones just too perfect lol.

However this one's tempting me for a 22650, but for 200? I don't know, I can buy a super-t with that. Thank god my stingray has polyurethane on it though, I don't want patina, it looks unique, but I don't want it brown.

So I held in my own hand, a 26650 this weekend. Very large, very heavy, very NOT pocket friendly! lol Just an fyi in case you haven't held one in person! ;)

Thanks for the heads up :D, that's actually what I was hoping. I'm a big guy and I thought 18650's were bigger from online pictures, to be honest was kinda let down when I finally saw one in a vape shop. I love heavy electronics, I think it'd just feel...mighty having a heavy, nice looking olympic baton for you mechanical :p

Forget this light saber vibrator looking 26650 mods and get yourself a copper mod, you wont regret it.....

Hey man I liked copper before it was cool :p. But seriously my first mechanical ever, I did a front-flip into the deep end and bought a Limited Edition Red Copper Authentic Stingray Mod by JDTech. Pure copper design, I coated it in a non-resistant polyurethane so it won't turn into a crapatina mod, looks like wet copper glass still like the day I bought it. Best magnetic firing switch I've still ever felt (it's practically touch sensitive with it's short non-existant throw, but can be set down), but most importantly all silver contacts and a volt drop 0.07. I pretty much bought the best copper mod in existence my first purchase.

But it's funny you said that because I have this on the way, my buddy owns an engraver so my names gonna be all over this thing.

it's gonna be a beast! It's designed so that your atty sits right on top of two 26650's. Das right.

Don't call that thing a dildo. That term is reserved for provari and their tapered tips. :p

If you like heavy mods, the Super T 22650 will be right up your alley.

If you are looking for craftsmanship, quality, contacts that don't have higher and higher v drop over time, that's the mod for you.

If you want trendy, busy, latest flash...nope.

The guy I bought my 18500 from has a 22650, and I honestly think that it would break your foot if you dropped it.
