I received two "kanger" eVods from a vendor. i specifically asked them prior to the sale if they were genuine Kanger or generics. They replied that they were genuine.

so i get the eVods, the first coil head tastes a bit off- no biggie. it happens. didnt think anything was awry. i plan to use one of the replacement coil heads and dont expect a problem.

however, before i swap out the coil head, along comes my brother with HIS new kanger eVods. and what do you know? the base of his eVod has KangerTech's logo printed on it. hmmmmm. interesting. neither of the two eVods i got have any markings. and neither does either box of replacement coils.

now, i was willing to accept that the replacement coil boxes dont have kanger printed on them. Boge has never been printed on boge carto boxes, so i wasnt expecting any branded name. but now that i think about it- not all vape manufacturers are the same, maybe kanger does list their name on the boxes. anyone know for sure?

how about the eVods themselves...anyone know if Kanger had their name branded on these things from the beginning? id hate to call out a vendor if they did send genuines. but i also hate that there things dont have a name branded on them when they told me they were genuine. there are lots of knock-off eVods around that look like this. and on top of that the first coil is bollocks. this is exactly what i was trying to avoid by paying a few more bucks and getting genuine kanger. i plan to try a new coil, hopefully the first one was a fluke. but if more of the coils start to reveal themselves as bad, this is not going to go down silently.

im an active member of the FB group that calls out bad vendors, im not shy here on ECF, and there are more outlets in general that i can and will use, if need be.

sure, it was about a $20 order altogether. nothing huge, but still. i dont want others to get taken for a ride (if this is indeed a ride). first its my $20, then its that guy's twenty, you know how the story goes. so please help- post your eVod description so I can try to get to the bottom of this.

much appreciated.

I bought my first 2 evods from a stateside vender that I trust to tell me the truth. He sells genuine Kanger products. Mine weren't branded. I may be wrong but I don't think any of them were branded when they first came out.
I have been using these same 2 evods since the middle of May.

I also bought a 10 pack from a vender that isn't stateside. They look exactly like my original 2. So far they are working out well.

polingpower is correct. The fakes only have 2 holes in the base.

Not all Kanger evods are branded. I got 4 from Discount Vapors that were not branded except for the ohm of the head printed on it. DV is a widely respected vender around here and list their knockoffs as DV brand so I am pretty sure they are genuine. Also all the reviews I watched when the evod was first hitting the states were unbranded. I think now that there are so many knockoffs rolling around kanger is branding new evods, but you may have been shipped old stock.

Most of my evods are from a group buy direct from Kanger last fall, none of those are branded Kanger. Since that time, I have gotten 2 more from Discount Vapers, and neither of those are branded either. I would assume the evods from the group buy are genuine as they came from Kanger, and I can guarantee that Eric at Discount Vapers only puts genuine Kangers in the Kanger category, anything else he will tell you if it's a clone, or as stated above, it will be branded DV.

On the upside Kemo, evod coils are a cinch to rebuild, even I can do it!

I'm not sure but my evod's and my protank are marked as well as the box the protank came in. I don't blame you for questioning what you get it would worry me as well. You could always get in touch with KangerTech directly and ask them if all their products are marked.

thanks for all the replies everyone. i now feel confident that the vendor didnt dupe me. of course its possible that they themselves got duped, but thats not really my concern. i will email kanger as retird has suggested.

what would you suggest, to email kanger and ask if "XYZ" Vendor was shipped genuine kanger eVods?

Kemo.....when I have a question such as you ask I usually just go to the source....go to the source with your question.... :):)

hum....vendors may or may not buy direct from Kanger....... I think my questions would tend to be branding, labeling of packaging, number of holes, etc. rather than vendor orders... Years ago I had issue with Genuine Dekang e-liquid/fake e-liquid and found out that there are many 3rd party wholesale outlets that vendors can buy from....and some 3rs party wholesalers could say their products are sourced from XXX(Genuine) when they may be sourced from YYY(Clone)....

just my 2-cents....good luck Kemo......

my evods from a sealed Kanger evod kit are NOT branded (none of my evods are branded)
my protank IS branded

Edward @ SunVapers is tuned into Kanger more than anyone I've read,
and I have read where he Requests/Suggests Kanger to start "Branding" their products
so maybe newer and future devices will all have "K" emblazed upon them...

if I am going to be getting 'knock-offs' or 'copies' I want to a least get'em cheaper
and not pay premium Kanger price
(a good working evod clone for $2.00, I'd go for that)

I've had the same experience than crxess, none of my genuine EVODs came branded. Only one of them (a green one) has 'EVOD BCC' printed on the tank itself. I've bought and used both genuine Kanger and clone EVODS, the genuine ones all have 3 holes, the clones I got from FastTech all have 2. Another way to tell them apart may be the coils that came with them. All genuine KangerTech BCC coils I have received so far (and I got a lot of them) have continuous vertical ridges going all the way down the center post, while on all the clone heads I have seen so far the ridges only go down about half way.
