Are batteries still good after a hard short ?

I can only speak for myself. I'd discard the battery if I knew that it had experienced any type of hard short and had gotten warm to touch. The battery may look fine on the outside, but you can not tell if any damage was done internally. I base this on personal experience of having a protected battery vent violently in a mech mod after a hard short.
