So i think i shorted out on my immortalizer clone. Ceramic deck chipped off and the deck moved. Probably the posts touching one another. So i felt the button on my mech mod feeling warm and i immediately took out the battery and it was warming up. Freaked out I put it down on the floor away for a moment. It is now back to normal temperature. Can it still be used? its a Sony VTC5 :S

half an hour chain vaping kind of warm. not too hot to hold. Just felt different than normal and I knew something was up already.

Well, I'm sure I'll get some admonishment for this, but:

If it were mine, I would re-charge it, meter it, and see how it runs in a fully functional PV. It sounds like you gave it a little stress, but those Sony's can take a little stress.

I agree with six. Monitor it through a charge and through its next use. Anything out of the ordinary and you might have an issue, but I think it's going to be just fine.

While I agree that it's probably fine, I would be careful. I would probably charge it and continue to use it while I monitored it very closely.
If you have a protected mod, use it in it until you're sure its fine.
That being said, that is only me. I'm cheap, but cautious.
You use your best judgment. Obviously you have some common sense, or you wouldn't have asked before using it again.
I would definitely err on the side of caution. The cost of a new battery isn't worth your safety.
I definitely wouldn't use the immortalizer again. Discard it.
Just my opinion.
