Are cartomizer style tanks becoming obsolete/

Hello fellow vapers. Im new to the forum and have a question. I was rocking a ego twist with boge LR cartomizers and just recieved my first tank which is the kanger pro tank and is awesome but im about to get the vamo to take the next step. I like the atomizers which is replacable and cost is pretty reasonable. I have seen the cartomizer style tanks used by people over the past couple of year but never bought any. I still like my boge cartomizers and will continue to by them but I would like to start using them in tanks, but its seems like people are going to rebuildables/ vivi nova, pro tank style set ups. the cartomizer tanks are pretty cheap and would like to buy some to have sort of like a back up. Are these things eventually going to fade out?

I don't think cartos in tanks are going to fade out any time soon. They are an awesome vape at a very reasonable cost. Some people have issues with them, but that's the case with all hardware in vaping. I vape Vivi Novas and love them. I vape Boge carts in tanks and they are great. I'm getting my feet wet with RBA's on mech mods and I think that shows signs of a promising future. But everything has its good and bad points. I'm not leaving any of these behind right now. They all have their place i my vape stash :smokie:

I agree with Ryedan. Thy have their place.

I would add that, to me, the cartotanks have only 1 advantage over a carto...holding capacity. I got an eGo/510 DCT from MadVapes and I like it. It holds 2.5 ml, so it'll last awhile. Aside from that it's just like hitting any other carto. Same vape. Same flavor.

I find the flavor from a tank/clearo with a wick to be better. They can also be easier to fill (depending on the model).

Nonetheless, cartotanks are everywhere and everybody makes them. I don't see them going the way of the dinosaur any time soon.

They definitely wont be dying off anytime soon. Cartos will always be around for the stick style e-cigs that are popular with our uneducated consumer population. The larger cartos that fit in the longer tanks could loose ground, (maybe less will be made by less makers) But I doubt that annnny time soon will we ever have a hard time getting cartos for any size carto tanks.

Its the current clearomizers and clearo tanks that are going to die off (evolve into new products) i'm guessing. They are part of an evolution of products. The bottom feeder clearos are killing the top coil clearos off. The kanger protank and other bottom feeding tanks could force manufacturers toward making top coil tanks and clearos a thing of the past. The bottom feeders are working reallly well and they are fairly easy for beginners AND rebuilders... So Idk. New versions of the vivi tank could also make the old versions obsolete. The kanger Evod could possibly end up taking the T3's place perminantly for instance. Carto tanks aren't going to become obsolete like the clearo tanks possibly could.

The best thing that ever happened to a cartomizer is the carto tank. If you like Boge cartos, get yourself a F15 or F16 boge carto tank.

Vaping heaven for carto lovers--they come preassembled with a laser prepunched cartomizer inside--and they can be had for as little as 4 bucks! Just fill and vape. They don't leak. I love mine!

I'm yet to try a carto tank, how do they compare to rba's and cleros :)

Although I was an enthusiastic user of carto tanks for some time, the introduction of RBAs and RDAs changed my personal vaping habits. I love the ability to tune a setup to a certain resistance with the resulting great taste and subtle flavors of good juices. Currently, I am using either an RBA or RDA 90% of the time.

Ummm so not a lot by the sounds of it, I guess I'll stick with rba's and rda's :)

You think so? I know some more experienced vapers who still like using stick-style mini e-cigs for portability a lot of the time when they're out of the house. Sure, they probably have a more custom rig setup at home, but not everyone likes to travel with their tanks and big batteries. It's definitely much easier to drive while smoking the sticks, and they're a lot easier to carry around with you too--just throw an extra battery and a couple filled cartos in your pocket or purse and you're good to go all day while you're out running errands. Plus they're a lot easier to get away with more discreetly in places where vaping may be frowned upon. (Also by pre-filling a couple of your cartos before you leave the house, you can have several different juice flavors with you without having to tote bottles of juice around.)

So for that reason, I'd guess there's still plenty of educated vapers who still use minis in their rotation for the portability factor. I'd also guess that it's probably these same educated vapers who pushed the market to develop better and more reliable mini e-cig models like the SI Volt or the current round of eGo's, versus what was available a few short years ago.

So I think we need to save the uneducated label not for all peeps who use minis, but for those who haven't bothered to do any research at all and end up buying one of the crappy no-name minis from some dinky mall kiosk, and get stuck with a battery that doesn't last more than an hour and crappy pre-filled cartos (which they don't know how to refill) filled with juice that tastes like dirty gym socks.

PS I hope this didn't come across sounding .....y, especially since I'm still fairly new to vaping myself. It's hard to express a tongue-in-cheek tone when you're writing, but I did want to present this alternate viewpoint for your consideration, and others reading this thread. Vape on! :vapor:

It's just that a lot of the posts and talk is about rbas. The vast majority still use carto/tanks. There have been surveys on various sites that show this.

Thanks! Glad I could assist. You know you can always count on us women folk to help you find exactly what you're trying to say... even if we're a bit loquacious at times. ;)
