cocoon of lunacy
No matter how frustrated I may get with cartomizers sometimes i always go back. The learning curve was a little tough at first, but being able to lay the device down flat and not having to worry about juice dripping all over the place out weighs everything. Sometimes I get the urge and fire up a Vivi or Kanger and the flavor is never as good as popping a carto in a tank.

what kind of cartos are you using? i use boges and have never had one drip all over from laying it down. are you overfilling maybe? only time i have a prob with one leaking is if while filling i spaz and hit the hole by mistake. :p

I may have been misunderstood, I use cartos since i hate having juice leak all over the place. That has always been my experience using clearomizers. Carto tanks are the best for on the go vaping, if your using a good quality tank you never have to worry about juicing dripping in your jeans or jacket pocket making a mess. I use smoktech's as well as boges. As long as they are kept primed up good with a few dry puffs to keep the juice flowing I don't have hardly any issues. It just took me a bit of time as a beginner to get the setting up method down. I wasted a lot of cartos when I first started out lol

A truckload of carto-tanks on me, my usual vape delivery device though I've the RBAs, none ever leaked. I'm a fan of Boge F-16s. They r the right size (dia) for my mech.mods, thus look good and never failed.

The F-16, 17 & 15 are "carto-tanks", at least one of them would fit (dia wise) most bats underneath. And they deliver prefect taste - flavor, vapor & TH.

And I don't think the carto-tank concept would die anytime soon.

Just at the time the first clearomizers were introduced the cartomizer manufacturers had major QC issues. Many vapers switched to these clearos, RBAs, etc and have really never gone back. I like my Vision Vivi Nova but occasionally still enjoy a carto+ tank...cartos I bought a year ago before QC issues.

I see the history a little differently. CE's were not popular, cracked all the time and whatnot. It's the stardust/vision etc. that changed the game, say, about a year ago, well after carto tanks were the rage. Later came "bogegate" and the large not so great batch of cartos. (which is long gone, btw).

I've tried bunches of the new versions of the CE's, and still use my pricey and cheap carto tanks much more frequently. And, I admit, I still enjoy dripping on an atty, too. :toast:

RBA's -- eek! I just don't go there.

If we're talking lower end budget here, that is below $40 just for an e-cig top. The Carto tank has these advantages:
-to my knowledge the best tasting leak-free solution with a high capacity
-seems to last longer than a clearo atomizer head
-easy to spot quality manufacturers (unlike a lot of clearo heads)
-readily available anywhere
-hassle free apart from punching holes, but there's tools for that

cheap RBAs in a nutshell:
-lower maintenance cost
-fun to play around with (you can try literally anything for wick-n-coil setups, get creative)
-taste as good as you make them, it does get very good
-not always easy to get started with, might require light modding
-not always leak-free (a genesis will always leak if you turn it upside down)

To be quite honest I would've skipped past clearos to a carto-tank if I knew what I know today.
