With the advent of Clearomizersrs providing superior taste, but still being perfected, Cartomizers are old technology and will eventually become a much smaller part of the market, Cartomizers are old technology and will eventually die out.

:nah: I could not disagree with you more.

Although I wouldn't mind seeing improvements in the filler material, I'll always prefer a cartomizer tank over any clearomizer any day.

If Smoktech or Boge would make their cartos like Ikenvape does, there would be no need for this discussion.

;) There is very little doubt in my mind that Bogetech makes IKV cartos. It's all about QC. I have old stock Boge cartos (from before Bogegate) and I have IKV cartos--they are identical and they perform exactly the same. :D

I've heard rumors that Joytech might start making new cartomizers again--with insulated coils. Their first attempt at making cartos (2 years ago) was a total failure, but the idea was good. I still have some of them in a box...

I'd read the same, but never been able to find confirmation of this.

When PBusardo reviewed the Ikenvape Fusions, he was very suspicious of the similarities of the Fusions and his beloved Boge. Even to the point of dissecting both to view their insides. Result? Look nearly the same.

Having said that and tried both brands, I'll take the Ikenvape any day. They are the closest we'll likely get to what a U.S. made carto would be like.

I'd always wondered about the filler material in those cartos. I assume the poly in polyfill stands for polyester or something similar, right? Thus most likely a synthetic material. With all the good we're doing for our bodies by cutting out the analogs, it'd be nice to know that the carto filter material is an all-natural substance as well. Has anyone actually done a study on the the filler material and how transparent it is in the whole process? Does it release any of it's own chemicals, however minor, into the vapor we're inhaling?

Don't try this with a jock strap.

I have used, tested and autopsied every carto sold by IKV. Some were total duds, others were brilliant. Isaac is a great guy and he demands quality from his manufacturers. That's the difference between his cartos and stock Boges sold everywhere else. :D

Yup, we've been trying for years. To the best of my knowledge, the filler is just polyester and the little wrap around the coil is made out of cotton (that has been tested in a lab). If it doesn't burn, we should be fine. If it burns, it's anyone's guess. If you want to read about it, there is a thread--it's 4 years old--and very long...

The Fusion is the IKV 510 Premium Platinum with an 801 base. Want proof? :p

Holy crap! Baditude is really Ernest Hemmingway!!

Cartotanks have been my preferred delivery device for almost a year. I find they give a more dependable, consistant, and more flavorful vaping experience than the string-wicked delivery devices. They in general are more sturdy and durable (I'm not fearful of putting my cartotank/PV in my pocket w/o it leaking juice, unlike a clearomizer or clearotank). They also are not position dependent; they don't need to be frequently tilted to keep the string wicks wet which I find annoying.

Just take a look at my photo gallery to see why cartotanks are my go-to delivery device: http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/members/baditude-albums-pictures-my-setup.html

For a picture dictionary of the more common juice delivery devices check out this: http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...k-what-primer-juice-delivery-attachments.html

Isn't there some VENTURE CAPITALIST that reads ECF? Someone who could go to China and give a factory the SPECS on what to build? The suggestions would be: cotton in the cartomizers, the "perfect" clearo, easy to change glass carto-tank and of course, the ever popular, non-breakable, fast charging small 1 million mAh battery. One can dream...

In my fictional rocketpunk space opera universe, which is heavily influenced by the old pulps from the 30's and 40's, all my characters used to smoke real cigs.

Ever since I got into vaping, all of my characters now "vape" using miniaturized atomic batteries that possess nuclear-level energy densities. Basically, a battery that will never run out, never need recharging... the endless vape.

There are many folks doing just that. Sun Vapers is a designer of Kanger clearos, Leaford is in China working on their Bloog cartomizers, etc.

You don't want cotton in your cartomizers! Trust me! ;)

I started with cartos and switched soon after to clearos, mostly T4 and thought they were wonderful, but soon found they get gunked up pretty fast and when they do taste terrible to me. I've recently switched over to the ProTank and some simple carto/tank systems and have been VERY happy so far. I have had a dud cart that tasted awful, but other than that everything has been great. TONS more vapor, lots more taste, and a lot better taste. the ProTank is my favorite by far, though. easy to fill, easy to use, easy to replace parts on (which I haven't had to do yet). I'm also a fan of using glass tanks, not so much because of some juices breaking plastic tanks, but just because I'm paranoid about using plastic anywhere near heating elements, then inhaling.
