Hiya everyone,
I am primarily a Cartomizer vaping sort of gal. I had tried my luck way back with the ce2s of old and when all the revisions started, switched to dual coil cartos instead. And I was happy with them for the most part. Then came the larger cartos, the smok tech XXL mega, and the ginormous ones they made for the e power. For me the biggest ones are TOO big and the flavor gets muted, plus holding 5 ml they are juice hogs, so I tend to stay in the Xxl mega type. Around 2 to 3 ml is good for me.

Now then my problem with these, the flavor just isn't getting it for me anymore. And there are very few drip tips available for them and I dispise the whistle tips that come with them. It like sucking thru a stir stick:mad:

So lethalp u might say, why not try dripping??
I have tried dripping, I recently bought some IO6 attys but have not gotten them out yet. For me dripping just doesn't fit into my life. I have kids and dogs and it's a lot easier to drip a few drops in my carto than to have to carry a bottle around and drip every few hits. I do see it's value, and will sit and drip on occasion when the house is empty and quiet (that hardly EVER happens btw)

So lethalp how bout a tank? Wouldn't that solve your problem?
Been there, ruined that. Tried them all, jonboy, elegance, smok tech, valley view, they just are not for me. I am not good at getting them to run right. The dreaded dry hit always happens. Or I can't get them to stop flooding. Flooding or burning, burning or flooding. So back to the cartos I go, again.

Now comes along the rebuildable attys, I can't even begin to try those, I sort of feel like I would need to pass some sort of exam and get a certificate of completion to even purchase one. Tho I do see lots of female fans, it does give me hop for some day. GO GIRLIES!! :)

So here I am asking a couple questions and maybe someone can lead the blind in the right direction before my credit card runs from me for buying some useless crap. I mean seriously what good does it do to go to all the trouble to pick juice vendors, and then steep juice, only to have a sub par vaping experience because u have fallen behind the times in hardware??

O yes questions...here goes

I would like a very warm, strong thick vape. I usually vape dc cartos at 1.8 to 2 ohm. I prefer a medium draw and a nice full bodied vapor.
i know already I don't care for single coil cartos, I really don't get all the hype there at all, they don't do a thing for me compared to a dual coil. I also do not like boge, for one thing they are too small for my liking, and IMO the draw is too stiff

1) Is there a carto out there that I have some how missed??

2) does anyone know if they are still trying to improve cartos? Or have they pretty much decided they are only good for tanks? And are therefore as good as they are goin to get??

3) I have recently been looking into the visions, kanger t2s, and the mini vivi novas, would any of those fit what I am looking for? A warm thick fiddle free vape??? They are very confusing to try to get into at this point. They sort of feel like algebra, if u didn't get in at the beginning, ur totally lost!

4) Am I the only person who has been vaping over a year who still uses cartos?? Am I just way behind the learning curve, or do others love the convienince and non fiddle factor of a carto?

Please help out a poor lost vaping soul....can anyone show me the way?? The way to that holy grail of great vaping???:confused:

I've been on a similar journey and ended up with dual coil 1.5 ohm as my favorite for over a year. I ended up getting some Vision Ego 1.8 ohm cartos due to a sale, and running them on a 3.7 ohm device became my first choice almost immediately. Warm thick vapor, good capacity for me (1.5ml) and easy to fill. They last for a long time and have taken drops onto concrete without giving out.

I think many people dismiss them because they use the default 2.4 ohm variety, which doesn't give the warmth or vapor on a 3.7 volt device. In a pinch they do well on an Ego at 3.3 volts too.

They might be worth a try.

I like the vivi nova, i've been using the 2.4 ohm heads but i think you can get them in 1.8 at health cabin. I'd like to try those. I want to get into rebuilding my own, but the heads cost about as much as a carto anyway so it's really not a big deal if you have a few all day vapes. I've been switching between fruit smoothie and RY4 in mine.

I still use cartos for juices that I like but don't want to vape all day long. So maybe pick up a couple for your handful of fave juices but still use the cartos when you have a quiet moment.

I certainly hope cartomizers aren't becoming a "thing of the past"! I've been doing this vaping thing for a year now...and have tried all manner of delivery systems...tanks, clearos, CE2s, etc. etc. . I'm back on cartomizers...and have no desire to change. When using KR808 equipment like the X2, I like to use Elite (CigEasy) cartomizers. I got a special cone to go with. I also like Kanger horizontal bottom coil XLs and the SI XL blanks. I don't like Boge. For my eGo type stuff...510 threaded...I prefer the EMSCC and the EMDCC SmokeTech cartomizers. For my VV devices I'll use 3ohm. For my regular eGo stuff, including the eGo T Mod I like 2ohm during the day and 1.7ohm at night when I want more "punch" to my vape...and a warmer hit. I use dual coils (1.5ohm) only at night mostly...during those stressful times. But I don't like how they get hot to the touch and tend to make my juice more harsh. But that's just me. They are fine for a little while, but then I am ready to go back to my EMSCCs.

I've notice some more interest in the 1.7 ohm single coil eGo Mega cartomizers lately. This is good. I hope that means that people like me that have found their "perfect vape" aren't going to have to regroup and go through the whole hunt and search bit all over again!!! BTW...hubby also vapes and has tried all sorts of delivery systems too. He also prefers EMSCCs...and the Vision dual coil cartomizers. There sure must be more of us out there...??!

One of the biggest reasons so many people are migrating to Vivi Nova's is due to the decline in cartomizer quality. Boge and smoktech being the major 2, Smok cartos, for me and many other people, just suck anymore. The last bunch of Smok cartos i've tried either wouldn't wick, flooded, and even when wicking perfectly, just wouldn't hit worth a damn. Boge cartos used to be the bees knees but due to their issues lately they have become rather hit or miss too, with far too many poor quality cartos floating around.

Vivi novas work well, and they're easy not only to replace, but they are super easy to rebuild for cheap. Definitely check out the 1.8ohm vivi nova. Make sure to get the genuine Vison Vivi Novas if you do decide to try this. I know GotVapes sells the genuine ones, and Discount Vapers sells both genuine and knockoff, and he specifies which is which.

I am the opposite...I tried the dual coils and felt they didn't offer near the vapor I wanted. The Boges seem to have taken a turn for the worse, a lot of folks have had complaints with them I switched to the Ikenvape Golds and just got a pack of the new 2.2 ohm Diamond cartos and am vary happy with then at 4.2 volts. I use double punched Golds in my tanks for the most part.

I have used the ViviNovas...they work well enough, same with the Raptor. At home I drip for the most part and use tanks and cartos when out and about.

Seems like I haven't used anything but stardusts and Novas for months, until about a week ago when I dug out an old dripping atty. Looking around today, there isn't a Vision product or tank in sight, they're all over in the Zombie box, and everything has an atty or plain ole necked carto on it. Sometimes simple really is better.

    Add:
These are by far the cleanest tasting cartos I have ever used.

But I have no idea who produces them for Trog, and sure wish he would get blank ones instead of prefilled.

I concur with Iamtumus Leeths!, i'm dipping my toes in, my vivi nova's should be here next week. and i'm totally looking forward to trying them for the first time, i watched pbsuardo's couple of videos on em, and they look wayyy easier than the tanks. go for it dudette, just dont get the vivi nova version 1's...and make sure theyre from VISION.

the vivi nova is undoubtedly what you're looking for.
plus if you want to dip your toes in rebuilding a little you can do it with them, but it's not necessary.

what device do you use primarily?

I just ordered a dozen more of these Smoktek single coil cartotank replacements in 3 ohm for my cartotanks and my Provari.

Single Coil XL Tank Cartomizer for the SmokTank XL

I am quite satisfied with their performance. No dry hits or flooding issues, no burnt taste like I often got with the dual coils. Seem to last at least a couple of tank refills.

I have a few of the vivi clone Smoktech Titans. I liked them a lot at first because of their easy top fill and juice-safe tubing. I had a temporary issue of leakage, but solved that by making certain that the endcaps are firmly secured. If not, a loose connection can allow juice to weep between the metal connection and show up as juice perspiration on the tubes. I also noted that some juice flavors are muted, confirmed by side by side comparison of the same juice in a cartotank.

I'd like to try the Ikenvape Platinum cartos for my tanks, but they are sold out everytime I look.

Looking forward to seeing some user reviews on Smokeless Image's X2-T3 clearomizers later this month. A bottom coil clearo that you load juice from the bottom end (upside down) and hold 3 ml of juice.
