I think its extraordinarily hypocritical to tell the OP to " just quit" or "stop right now" when it comes to smoking. Sounds like anti-smoking rhetoric.

The OP has the OPTION (as of right this moment) to consume nicotine. In any legal form he sees fit .

Whether you are addicted or not, nicotine affects brain chemistry. If the OP likes that altered state, even just a couple times a week, chewing gum isn't going to replace it.

Whether you want to believe it or not, not everyone becomes addicted to nicotine.

IMO, if you are looking to ingest nicotine, for whatever reasons, a PV is a much, much, much, much safer alternative to cigarettes.

I tend to agree, and I still believe after 25 years that I am not addicted to nicotine.
But then I generally smoked no more than 5 light cigarettes per day.

And I have been known to go all day without one without even thinking twice about it.
But that is only as long as I'm not drinking
And as long as I am not working.
And as long as I am keeping busy.
And as long as nothing stressful is happening.
And as long as I don't see someone else smoking one.

But even if it IS true, and it may very well be for some people, gambling that you are one of those people is like playing russian roulette. And I would never suggest that anyone knowingly and willingly play Russian Roulette.

Lol, so typical !!! I've been there, seen it happen to many friends 18+, people think they have control over cigarettes but honestly the only ones who have true control are those who have been through the addiction and figured out how to deal with it. I've also seen people start and quit as soon as possible because they felt the addiction creeping up on them and the effect on the body when playing sports ( smart guys with a good upbringing ).

This pot smoker kid obviously doesn't have reason to stop, all he wants to really know is if the E-cig will get him high like a regular cig while stoned. My answer is YES, and even more - your friends will think your very cool for having one, you will trip them out and amaze them with your glowing blue stick and tasty flavors. Who cares if it's healthier for you or not, it's so much more fun than regular smoking, AND you can go to the mall all ripped and smoke, or in the movie theater. You can make your own flavor for it if you know what I mean, you will be popular and make lots of money off of all your stoner friends hooking them up, and imagine at a party !!. You and all your friends are the future of E-smoking so please take my word for it, it's worth it, gives a nice nicotine rush with your high and hits the spot. =oD That's what you wanted to know.
Spend the money today !
Funny but true, it's been many many years but I know the stoners don't care about addiction at that age, the world revolves around them thinking they know it all, scoring weed and screwing off. The world is new, your addiction is new and you love it. Right now it fits your other habit, then it will go great with a meal, when you wake up, after sex, with alcohol, after work, during break, stressful day, in your own car, at the beach, Eventually everywhere and it goes with just about everything, until perhaps you replace it with something good, or something bad, or you come to terms with the addiction and control it only using it to enhance your life at certain times ( when your older ).
If you think you love it during a pot high, just wait - it gets so much better than that !!! You should be excited, your just in the beginning of one of the best addictions in the world, +++ another is crack and heroine, can you handle those yet too? lol You seem to think so.
Good luck !

Could be way off here, but whatever....

Seems pretty obvious to my that, whether you know it or not, you are addicted to cigs, but psychologically rather than physically.

Regardless of your addiction status, my thought is YES, go for an e-cig with 0 nic. It will more than satisfy your urge to puff away when buzzed and not.

My one friend doesn't smoke cigarettes, but he does enjoy a hookah every once and a while, or even a nice Black and Mild.
He bought a starter kit and a bunch of 0 nic juice, and he's loving it.
He just like messin around blowing smoke rings, and enjoying the awesome flavor of the 0nic juice. He says its like his own little mini personal hookah.

Let's see, nicotine addiction has been compared in strength to heroine additicion - pyschologically. I was a drunk for 14 years, been sober for 18 1/2. If anyone was thinking of taking up the "drink" I'd say the same thing, Don't. If any of you have ever had the unpleasant experience of having to deal with a recovering heroine addict (I have) you'd notice the first thing they do before lighting up is either to cut the filter in half or rip it off completely. Their brains crave the full hit altered chemistry. If you don't think you're addicted to nicotine, you've just convinced yourself your not. I personally don't give a rat's patoot if you smoke or not. But if someone asks me if they should start, my answer is still no. Seems it doesn't matter to a pot head though, I'd bet 3/4's of you don't know what parquat was.

Sorry to bust up the banter guys, but I don't think anyone has really given Kroovy an answer to the question he was asking. He's not asking whether you think he's addicted to cigarettes, he's asking if you think switching to e-cigs would be right for him. Most of you suggested he just quit, the problem there is - what if he doesn't want to? I should think this board would be more about sharing information about e-cigs with others, not telling them what personal choices they should be making.

Good post! Ronald who?

So, you will go get something pretty with a blue LED and 0 nic, and whatever.... You are going to do what you are going to do. You will never get through the learning curve on these without trying it all. Just don't ever say you weren't warned.
Best of luck
