Are "fancy" wire builds worth it with Mesh?

not a trick per say.....

but ribbon wire is where it is at with Genisis style tanks.

i think it gives off better flavor, and cuts my setup time by half....

What gauge/size of ribbon wire do you use? I'm guessing there's a conversion somewhere that correlates ribbon wire resistance with normal wire resistance, ordered some before and it was way too thin to use effectively.

i dont remember, but it was equivalent to 30ga. Kanthal

On the ribbon page they have a chart showing comparable resistance to round wire guages
I use .8 my builds come out just a touch lower then 28g

FWIW, while blackened mesh or wire may be oxidized. Well oxidized stainless, kantha; and nichrome can look CLEAN and shinny.
