I don't know. I have the blue 14430-NTI I got from Mike on the first run and it's a protected battery. Protected batteries have a little indentation on the bottom that goes around the battery on the bottom of the battery. It's the edge of the protection circuit mounted on it. The non protected ones go straight down. Sometimes you have to run your finger nail around it to see it. The Infinity is protected though so your okay if it isn't.

They are supposed to be, and they certainly look like they have a protection circuit, but I accidentally mixed mine up earlier, and my markings wore off, so I measured the voltage on them and one of them had discharged to .2V:shock:

.. but it is not uncommon to occasionally get a battery with a defective protection circuit.

Buzzkill,

When you say there would be a dip in the plastic on the bottom, do you mean on the lil round negative bottom or on the side, BY the bottom?

I notice a ridge on the side of the battery that is real near the bottom. But that ridge isn't on the batts from Feb. Would I have to keep them separate and not use them together if some are the non protected kind?

Thanks,
Lori
