**I bought one juice from a great vendor named after a name-brand bourbon. Hated it, thought it tasted like stale chocolate and not much else. Certainly not like bourbon or anything close. My employee tried it, said yuck, tastes like bubble gum. Neighbor thought maybe banana or something fruity that he couldn't identify but he liked it well enough to he took it off my hands. :)

When I smoked cigars, I was introduced to a "flavor wheel", that was supposed to help identify flavors. (never seemed to help me much, but whatev..)

I just Googled "flavor wheel" images, and see that they exist for everything from cigars to wine to coffee to chocolate to chili peppers. Perhaps we need one for e-juice.

I'm curious how much the PG/VG mix you select affects the flavor? Pausing to consult my cheat sheet...PG allegedly gives you stronger flavor, and VG gives more sweetness. Of the sites that allow you to customize the mix, it seems like a lot of them have a "default" mix, and on at least a couple they claim their recipes are optimized for that particular mix. Is that just marketing hype? Do those of you who have a preferred mix always order that mix, or do you accept the default?

I have had some really crappy juices from different vendors. I recently purchased some juices from Backwoods Brew. Their stuff is awesome!! If you like the RY4, then youre going to love their RY4. You will want to let the juices sit for about 10 days though. That is their only drawback.

I totally agree! The only issue with the RY4, though, is it's discontinued and the last batch was the final run. I could be mistaken and someone in the Backwoods Brew forum would know better than me, but that's my understanding. Still, it's tough to go wrong with them regardless of the juice flavor. Alien Visions is another vendor that's generally pretty spot on, if you ask me.

I guess we can just use some common sense when mixing our DIY..

I agree with you on brands/ I smoked Malboro lights and nothing else, I didnt try other cigs because I liked what I had. Same goes for e-liquid... I have been using Innovapors Ultrapure for over 2 years now. I like it because its 100% VG and comes in 0-36mg nicotine strength... I use lite or unflavored... Every now and then I have ordered some other vendors flavored juice... You know the story, after a few hits I cant stand it, so I pass it on to my freind.............
