However, I find that every time I order a batch of juices only one or two are good and the rest are unusable. Is this normal?

Whew.. I thought I was the only one. Yes, most of the juices I've tried are rubbish. But when they're good, they're usually REALLY GOOD. My faves so far are a pina colada, a coffee, and something called paradise delight. Anything else I've tried has been pretty awful.

I'm aware that some juices might take time to grow on me, but most of these I just can't imagine. One literally tasted like mentholatum™.. you know, that green translucent ointment your grandmother used to make you rub all over her back and neck rolls? Or, maybe that was just my grandma.. (Miss ya, grandma)

A noob here also 2 months but i have found some good juice and some bad. You can not always take someones reviews and think like them because everyone has different tastes. After a While you may find someone who has similiar tastes to yours and might want to follow their reviews. Also if you get some juice and you don't like it right away don't throw it out. Put it up for a week or 2 then try it again. I may suprise you.

+ 1 on Dekang.
I think the most consistent eliquids are the ones from DeKang, Hansen (sp) and Janty, especially Janty. Since they make large quantities, I believe that lends itself to consistency. I've found the same issue as you have with many eliquids but never with Janty.

I have been vaping for about a year now and I have to tell ya great flavors are hard to find. Everyone is different, it took me about 6 months of buying samples and trying what others at work had before I found my every day vape. And just this last week i don't know if I changed or the formula changed but my go to vape has changed flavor on me and I an in search of new flavors yet again. Most people I know at work have a go to vendor for a couple of flavors and are always looking for new flavors from new vendors or some vendor they saw a review on or something or another. I suggest just keeping at it your taste will probably change some in the next few months as you can start to taste and smell things again.

I've been a non-smoker for almost a month now and have ended up with a couple of juices that well--suck. I have a root beer that no matter what atty or carto I put it in it tastes like burning nasty puke. Yes that bad. I have a 18 dollar bottle of 555 that tastes and smells like old sweaty socks. I won't flame vendors here, but probably won't buy from again. I have a bottle of ry4 that rocks, my favorite so far. When I reordered it wasn't the same.
I guess in short, we are buying from small vendors without any consistency. Time to start mixing our own?
And I am really hating the Joye ego-c. The 1000 mah passthroughs are nice but the tank/atty system sucks. The boge lr carto's make a huge difference.

lol I had a butterscotch that tasted like pure puke... lol the vendor could of labled it "Throw Up"

it was spot on puke!

After a year of vaping here are my fingings.
Most juices fall into the ok range. Some, are better than others in a specific category ie strawberry or caramel by vendor. Very few juices are wow great and no juice out there has been worth all the hype I've read and seen once received and tested personally.

Some vendors are consistently better overall than others, while some may make one or two juices that blow the "best" vendors out of the water while the rest of their juices suck royally.

Basically its a crapshoot.

If there's a consensus here that there is an awesome flavor it usually is in the good range and is safe assuming you've read the description and enjoy that type flavor

I found the same thing on flavors, but not with one I already like. Vapers have such a diverse taste pallet. I think thats why there are hundreds of flavors, something for everyone. Luckily I have two vendors within driving distance, so can go sample before I buy. If you can find one close to you, thats the way to go. For me both vendors are also online, so can go in or web order once I know my favorites.

A few of my favorites:

DFWVapor
1. Atomic Fireball
2. Hawiian Punch
3. Orange creamcicle

Vaporescence
1. True Blood
2. Fried banana
3. Strawberry nightshade

I've only had 2 flavors that I will NEVER vape again. The majority are OK and only 3 so far have been great. So, my conclusion, I am no longer trying any others and sticking with the 3 that I like. If, at some point, they start to suck I will once again experiment.

Like everyone have said, taste is subjective, and taste will change in time as your sense of smell and taste come back. I think for a new vaper, it is good to get the small bottles of samples to start. This way you can experiment and find out which flavors you like the most before you buy a larger batch. Once you get used to vaping and become an "expert," you can try to DIY on juices based on what you liked from the samples you have tried.

I am still experimenting with the different flavors since I am kinda new to vaping. I used to smoke menthols, and started vaping menthols the first 2 weeks or so. I tried fruit flavors and did not like them, but I think I will revisit fruit flavors now that I have learned about steeping. I am currently vaping dessert flavors, and enjoying them.

Happy Vaping! :vapor:
