Are my ohm's readings off or are my ProTanks coils off?

Hello All,

Just got my VAMO V3 yesterday and can't believe how much better the flavor/vape is compared to my Halo G6. I am running a ProTank 2 on my VAMO and it was sent with 1.8 ohm and 2.5 ohm coils. When I use the VAMO to check the ohms I am getting 2.0 for the 1.8 and 2.7 for the 2.5.

Are the coils off or is my VAMO off?

I have two replacement heads in use now, one 1.8 ohm and one 2.2 ohm. They both are reading about 0.2 ohms higher than the resistance printed on the heads.

My guess is that the heads don't have the exact resistance they are advertised to have, because I tested both of them with my iTaste VV V3 and got the same readings.

That said, my VAMO resistance checker is a little finicky; sometimes I will check the resistance of an attached coil and it will give me one reading, then if I remove the battery and reinstall it the measured resistance of the attached coil changes slightly. In the end it doesn't really bother me; if I vape it and it doesn't taste right I just change the wattage slightly to get the best vape.

I'd trust the Vamo. Mass produced = mistakes

A rule of thumb on Kanger coils and their clones is that the actual resistance is +/- 0.2 Ω vs. the nominal resistance. So if you're reading 2.0 and 2.7, you're within the standard range of variability.

The only way to insure that you're getting less variability is to become an expert on building the coil yourself.
