Considering how many new mods are coming out already, I have no doubt some of the more creative/electronimically..er inclined folks will incorporate these if they get their hands on em.

my only question is, does this type of technology improve capacity. as in, cram more mAh into a format that we already have...........

you dont need much to light up an LED for a few seconds.

My thoughts exactly, most likely the technology has a lower capacity per physical size. Don't have time to watch the videos at the moment though, I'll have to come back and read up on this.

Actually, this technology is to allow greater flexibility in the form factor.
With this kind of technology, you can fit a battery in places one might never have thought of before.
You no longer need a dedicated hard cavity to fit a tube shaped battery and the wasted space inherent in the tube shape. You can fit a battery the thickness of a thick piece of paper around the electronics, bury it in a hinge or fold it into a more compact cube shape.
It's all about allowing greater flexibility in compact packaging.
BTW. Flexible LiPoly batteries and stretchable PCB can used in a PV in the shape of a shirt that CMac could vape.

@ forrtytwo, i get your point, by using your shirt reference, can i get an all day vape out of a thin t-shirt, or would i need a really thick parka?

this "flexible" technology is useless if the amount of storable energy in a piece of clothing is the equivalent of an 18350 battery.

i dont want to be carrying a bag with 3 t-shirts in it, just to vape all day.

Maybe not for you. I wear XL tee shirts. Hang a Vivi Nova off each nipple and I'm good for a fair part of a day.

Under the current Litium technology that rope LiPo would never handle the Amp draw we need, ..unless lots of it was in parallel. It's good for novelty toy chit. The Silica crystal Matrix type storage is what I'm really looking forward too. Sand, theoretically, can store 10X the capacity of Ions over today's LiPos. Some British company has found a method around the Spikes of Crystallization problem with sand, which made prior Silica batteries a self destructing fire hazard. In the next 3 to 5 years we should have pen sized Auto Batts vaping for over 10 hours
