*** Note, I have a real issue with Pitney Bowes playing the part of Customs. Who are they, to say what Will or will not clear Customs?

*We will not ship a product that WE deem, may not meet import approval........But we WILL Repackage products in a manor that may cause Damage to Occur.*
It's funny. They say that these restricted items may be confiscated and resold right on their (eBays) website.
So basically they are saying it's not ok for you to sell them, but it is ok for them to take it from you and sell it.

I'm in Canada and used to buy items from the US Ebay site A lot! I avoid the Global shipping program sellers at all cost. IMO this system was cooked up to stream line international shipping, so as they could make money on the shipping cost. They automatically collect import fees, & it would not surprise me if they just pocketed that money. IMO Ebay has no business getting between you and the seller after the sale for any reason, of coarse! unless there is a profit to be made. With the GSP every thing is funnelled into a central shipping hub and every cost cutting measure is put into place to turn a better profit off international shipping. It's not in the best interest of the Buyer cause you pay top dollar for international shipping with the GSP & get stripped down service :(
This is creating situations like the video posted in this thread.
If your an international buyer Do Not! use the GSP!
