Are the eGo C/T Plastic tanks food grade safe?

I am wondering is the eGo C/T plastic tanks are food grade safe since they seem to have a real plastic smell and when I vape from them they also seem to have a plastic taste.

My concern is if the are not food grade, then the plastic could leach into the liquid. Also when heated I am wanting to make sure I am not inhaling toxic fumes from the tanks as well.

If anyone knows what type of plastic they are made from, it may be easier to find this out.

From my experience from days gone by, most plastics you can smell or taste or smell are not food grade, but who knows with this product. I am assuming they would be, but...

Any info would be appreciated.

Not sure as to the real answer here, but I found if you drip a couple of drops onto the atomizer & then insert the tank - it will prevent the tank's plastic from burning on the top of the hot atty. The bonus is the plastic taste will disappear within a short time.

So take out the tank and drip a few drops down the hole where it pierces the tank, or on the outside of the hole? I have an eGo C right now and the atty is real small.

The idea is get liquid between the bottom of the plastic/rubber cap & the round ring shaped metal atomier washer thingy. Dripping onto the bottom of the cap or just dripping 2 drops into the cone, should work.

I think it was Nikkita6 who suggested this - I tried it & never experienced the plastic taste ever again.

Thanks, I will give that a try. I see there are two small 'slits' beside the ping that goes into tank and wonder if the liquid will leak to below when putting on the bottom and if so how often do you have to put 2 more drops in again?

The 2 small slits are for vapour to rise out of. They are basically holes to the coil & ceramic cup. Liquid goes there anyway, through the wick. No worries. I only put a drop or 2 with each new atty & have just dropped them into the cone. Before I inserted a new atomizer head, I put 1 drop directly onto the sharp puncture thing with the wick. sort of jump starting the process. Has worked pretty good for me in the past 4 weeks.

Just dropping the two drops has already helped with very little plastic taste now. Again thanks so much.

Still hope to find out if these things are food safe; kinda hard to trust Chinese companies sometimes.

Get rid of the plastic taste completely by priming the atty;do it by blocking the air holes (at the bottom of the atty,at the battery junction) with your fingers and suck;this will charge the atty with juice...do it evry 4-5 puffs.
