Are the flavors supposed to be this weak?

I got a couple sample sizes of flavors from HHV and a local brick & mortar place. I think I must be doing something wrong, because everyone says how wonderful the flavors are... but for me, they're pretty weak. Meaning- I don't taste much flavor, and it kind of comes and goes. Very inconsistent. Sometimes I can't taste it at all really.

I LOVE the way some of the liquids smell... but the taste is nowhere near as strong as the smell...?

What am I doing wrong?

What are you using to vape with?

Taste is VERY subjective. I know when I first started I wasn't getting much flavor but as my taste started to come back I noticed it more and more.

Also, some e-juices (despite the many awesome reviews) just don't taste the same to every person. Some e-juices that I like my vaping buddy can't stand and vice-versa.

It may take awhile and some experimentation to find a vendor and juice that you like. For what it's worth I still have to order my e-juices with extra flavor because the normal amount just isn't enough (except for EC-Blend...their stuff is usually spot on).

I also like menthol flavors and that helps the taste buds quite a bit.

Some eliquid may not have much of a taste after it is freshly made. They have to steep a while. Others, like this Mint Ice I'm vaping on, are ready to rock as soon as you purchase them.

I learned to buy ahead and place my newly purchased eliquids in a dark place and let them sit for a while. I currently have 4 bottles, that I made, in the back of my juice drawer. They've been there over a week and I'm not touching them, other than to shake them every once in a while, for at least another week.

At this point I'm just using a regular V2 battery and one of their little clearomizers. And no... I tried a couple flavors right out of the bottle  Maybe I should let it sit a while...?

I'm just starting with all this, so I guess I worry excessively that I'm doing something wrong LOL.

I also ordered a few to try from Backwoods Brew, and I'm looking for other suggestions. I guess it's just trial and error... and steeping??

tobaccos almost always need to steep. Not certain what flavors you tried or have on order. But steeping helps in most cases, since some of the e-juice use alcohol in their creation.

I just received my HHV order a few days ago, but couldn't resist trying at least 1 after only 1 day of steeping... and it's utterly fantastic -- that would be Heavenly Army. It still blows my mind at the flavors I keep getting from it, plus the vapor is unreal. This is with a VV iTaste MVP and a Kanger Protank bcc.

Many an ejuice's flavor, like wine, improves with age.

Welcome Eranda !
I was just down in Bangor a few weeks ago. Looked around for a brick and mortar vape store...
Couldn't find any.

Pretty much what crash says...you gotta let em steep for a few weeks if they are fresh made.
It allows the Flavors to mend together. Also...taste is subjective.
I have to get extra flavor shots in mine cuz they seemed weak to me too....
But it also depends on what gear you are Vaping with...
Atomizers tend to produce the most true Flavors.

Best to You !

AH! Thanks. I have been exploring new juices and will add this to my list.

I have a bottle of juice that I absolutely disliked out of the box but after leaving it alone for about 2 weeks have decided that I really liked. Sounds like from the other posts that steeping might solve your weak flavor problem. Hope it works out for you.

Are there vendors who sell fully steeped juices?

My reality is that I'm not buying juice today and waiting a few weeks to use it. Just not gonna happen, unless I have so many flavors that it takes a few weeks before any particular one comes up in the rotation - and then it's steeped by accident, not by design. Also, I really don't have the confidence that I'd be steeping properly anyway. I get it today it's being used today. :)

Most u should steep for at least one week, once you have backups for your backups it's gets real easy to recieve a new flavor or a fav one and can Vape existing liquids while waiting. Plan ahead is your friend.

I would agree with ennagizer; It's a little much to expect that folks purchase something to just sit on it until it's good.

That said, I also understand the market somewhat. Supplies are expensive and I can see this being a little more artisinal; make it as it's ordered, ship it out. I can imagine that in future, popular flavors might be pre-steeped since they'll be made in larger batches in preparation for selling.

But, I just kind of took the weak flavors as getting used to the taste. When I switch to a new flavor, I always can taste the new flavor quite strongly, but after about an hour or so; no flavor at all. If I puff it like a cigar, get a nice swirl of vapor around my face, then I smell it and rekindles that flavor for a bit. But, otherwise, just got used to having zero flavor when normally vaping.

A simple rule of thumb is that an e-juice with simple flavors don't need to steep as long as juices with more complex flavors.

I've been ordering root beer, strawberry menthol, and absinthe from Mount Baker Vapor and I can vape them as soon as I get them. My higher end coffees and tobaccos need to sit a week or two before they're any good.
