are there any e-cigs that don't have a weird aftertaste?

you may need to break in the atomizer/cartomizer that houses the liquid. another problem could be the safecig stock atomizer/carto may just suck. The last thing could be the liquid itself. I use 510 atomizers and cartomizers and never get the plastic taste (Burnt taste sometimes because I don't have enough liquid filled up)

I am going to blame gacky Chinese juice. Granted, there may be a few tolerable ones. But to me they all have a certain unidentifiable but unpleasant aftertaste.

I recommend some juices from NHaler. Or alternatively, try some Tribeca from Halo. Absolutely superb and smooth -- the perfect vape.

I have no experience with "Safecig." I think it's a reasonable bet it could just generally suck, as the above poster suggests.

A good Riva./Ego 510 kit would fix you up, with some decent Boge cartomizers that you fill with your OWN juice. Another great start is Bloog -- a very nice KR808 that has the only auto battery I like and draws crazy good. Their pre-filled carts are exceptionally good as well -- especially the 555 and RY4.

Don't let your bad experience with Safecig turn you off. There are lots of vapers who LOVE the flavor of their device/juice. So will you with some experimentation. :) Press on!

I have had the misfortune to have tried their what, three? flavors of prefilled cartos, and yes, they all blow goats. If you are married to that overpriced rebranded RN4081, get over to AZsmokefree.com and get some of their empty cartos for that model and some juice and fill them yourself. You can also get the parts to that model for way, way, way less than safecig charges there too. (It's not a really terrible super-mini, it's just that safecig is a rip-off website- if you can return it still, I'd do that and get something else, or the same thing for way less at AZsmokefree.)

I'll third that.

Tend to save money in the long run. BOGE blank cartomizers if you end up on a 510 system. I fill them for 4-5 days, grab a new one, and when I run out I clean em. This lasts months.

Only chinese e-juice I can stand is Dekang, and only certain flavors. I find their RY4, blueberry, nubay and fortune strike to be among the best of them. Most of their other fruit flavored ones suck. Trust me, I've tried most of them. Same weird aftertaste.

Return the safecig as fast as possible. That amount of money can buy you a lot of awesome stuff from the ECF vendors. If you can't or won't there are plenty of places to buy amazing flavors of niquid (liquid nicotine solution) and refillable cartomizers for your safecig. AZ Smoke Free has r n 8021 (or whatever the safecig generic model number is). The SafeCig cartomizers are a pain to refill because the caps are glued on. And they taste horrible (I know. I had one.)

I second that. There's some really horrible stuff out there. If you're used to the good stuff, the horrible stuff really makes you cringe.

Yeah, return that safecig if you can.

There are many excellent vendors selling pretty decent PV's.

At the top of this page, click on Forum Suppliers and do some shopping.

Recommend Liberty-Flights, Cignot, and Litecigusa for Hardware. (kits run from $39 at LF to $59 at the others)

For juices, Freedomsmokeusa, Backwoods Brew, Vapor Station, Madvapes, and hopefully others will recommend more for you.

I get all my 510 batts from MadVapes ( a kit is 35$ - 2 batts, 2 attys, 5 carts). They have a plethora of carto's to try and both chineese juices (at great prices) and custom mixed ones as well (top vapor). I 99th the suggestion of returning those kits and picking up a 510 or 808D instead. There is a ton of great vendors that carry these models and with an adaptor you can easily use the accessories with either.
