Has anyone built a DNA30 box with the chips from Hyperion?

My question is, when the screen timeout and goes black, when I hit the fire button I see the evolv DNA screen again.

On my DNA20 chips this is not the case. After a screen timeout (black screen) and I hit the fire button it immediately fires and I see the wattage screen.

Are all DNA30 boards like this or just these?

Thats what the DNA 30 does, my ZNA brings up the Zen ZNA screen each time it wakes up.

-The VAMO chip is $11.64 from FastTech. Mine shipped to my house in about 3 weeks. I have about $30 into the box mod I made, so it did not cost any more than my Vamo V2! Which would you rather vape from? ;)
$11.64 VOMO V5 Variable Voltage/Wattage Mod Module - 3.0-15.0W / 3.0-6.0V / 0.6" OLED at FastTech - Worldwide Free Shipping

JohnnyDill, since you have successfully made a box with the VAMO, you obviously know something more about it, than what FastTech is willing to disclose. They give a few specs, and a list of features on their web page, but there is nothing about how to use it. Even their technical support could do nothing but refer me to the web page. One commenter described how to connect it. But, it is the menu system that is giving me problems now.

Does this circuit board work similarly to another product that I might look up, to see some instructions about how to use it?

Thanks for any help,
-Joe

Thanks for the link, but the Vamo V5 writeup seemed to be somewhat scrambled. I don't think it is that he isn't a native English speaker. Rather, the lines are actually not in the original order they were typed.

I can at least get some clues about how to operate this thing from his posting, so it is certainly more than what you get from FastTech.

With the mention of this VOMO chip being like a Vamo V5, I was able to find some good instructions. It seems others are frustrated by the lack of instructions when they received their devices. I am puzzled why a manufacturer will send out something like this that requires a special sequence of button presses, but then give the user no clue about how to make it work!

For future reader's convenience;

how to use the vamo v5:
upon changing batteries, or when the unit is in standby: Quickly press the power button 5 times to turn it on.
press the power button to vape as desired. Note: There is a 10 second limit on firing.
quickly press the powjer button 5 times to turn it off (back to standby).

how to use the menu:
press the power button momentarily to light up the display, then keep pressing "+" and "-" at the same time for 5 seconds to enter the main menu
once you have reached the main menu press the "+" button to adjust the main menu and press the "-" button to select your choice from the sub menu
do not press any buttons for 3 seconds to exit the menu

the menu choices are:
power voltage: You have the option to put the device in either "power" or "voltage" mode
lcd display: You can adjust the display to show either "voltage/power" "battery-life" or "resistance" when the power button is hit. Note this setting is not saved when changing batteries.
lcd on/off: You have the option to turn the display "on" or "off" while firing

voltage and resistance information:
press the "+" button for 3 seconds to display current battery voltage level.
press the "-" button for 3 seconds to display the resistance of your atomizer.
to select between mean (avg) and rms, press the "-" button for 10 seconds and the mode will be displayed, repeat this procedure to select the other mode if desired.
if you press the power button and the oled screen displays "low resistance" that means the working resistance of your device is under 1.2 ohm, it will not fire.
if you press the power button and the oled screen displays "low v" that means the battery voltage of your device is under 3.2 volts, it will not fire. Change your battery.
