I'm sort of an anti-shill. I haven't been vaping long but I won't hop on the bandwagon just because everyone else likes something. i made a little mini review of HHV and also my initial impressions of using a Volt e-cig and both reviews were less than stellar. They were only my initial impressions first coming off analogs. I've learned some quirks though and can appreciate both products a bit more now.

I worked in marketing professionally so I can spot a shill very easily. That's one of the reasons I am apprehensive to give positive appraisals to things just because they are popular. I have no doubt there are company employees that try to get sales in an inconspicuous way here. Marketing has no ethics or lows they aren't willing to sink too and word of mouth advertising is the #1 sales tool, so I am very apprehensive to give positive appraisals like some of the people here.

Wherever you have vendors, you have at least some shills, goes hand in hand.

ECF rules and moderation are actually quite good clamping down on thread hijacks by agenda-laden sockpuppets too.

Some other vaping forums out there arose exclusively to bypass certain restrictions --- vendors excessively petting & stroking for biz, essentially an avenue to get around these rules ... every other topic railroaded by them.

Nowhere
Some shills but mostly not.

The join date/post count thing is not always really relevant here for a few reasons. At least not when applied as an absolute bias.

1. Not everyone who vapes is initially looking to talk about it. So people like me had vaped for a while prior to joining.

2. Even after joining you don't necessarily make a lot of posts. I mostly read the vendor forums and some reviews for quite a while. Some people have to find their voice on a forum so to speak.

3. Vaping is so young and the technology/devices changes so fast...a guy who has been vaping for two months may have just as relevant of things to say about a new mod/batt/atomizer/carto/clearo as someone who has been vaping for two years.

Been vaping for just at 2 years. Never been a social forum fan, nope not even a Fakebook account. I was in a near death auto accident and have been in rehab for my broken neck, sternum, brain, speech, balance after a successful carrer in the USMC without injury and find myself bored.
I vape, I dont smoke. I'm good at it. I know how to review juice and electronic devices if I have the itch. Guess what, I can also test drive a vehicle a couple of times and review what I enjoy and what I dont. Neat huh. I can also give you my unvalued opinion on food that I have eaten once.
I have 60 posts +-. I may never post again but I probably will. I have found that I really like Mountain Oak Vapors juice for several reasons. I hang out in the MOV thread because I have found there are some really good folks hanging there that have accepted my half baked meaningless babble.
I have learned quite a bit here and I appreciate the members. I look for info and several opinions and I have never thought that there may be "moles" with a secret handshake speaking code amongst the herd.
One of the MOV forum peeps suggested to try a new flavor. I bought it, vaped it, loved it and guess what...wait for it...wait for it...I am going to post a quick review.
I now feel like I am justifying my exsistance on this forum for the OP. I'm not.

What do you guys mean by shilling anyway? Is that some forum lingo I'm not familiar with?

Someone with a connection to a supplier or product that posts very flattering things about the product, trying to push people to buy it.

Glad someone with more education than I asked, couldn't find it in the dictionary.
But I haven't noticed any of that on ECF.
