Are volt batteries really regulated?

I've been loyal to si for batteries so far and was going to continue up the road to a spinner, but I'm a little uneasy at what I just found out.
I got some kr808 chargers and wanted to see if they were compatible with my volts. I thought they wouldn't be because the volt is a regulated battery, but I just metered both of my manuals with the button pressed in and read 4v on both. Aren't these supposed to be regulated to 3.6v?
Or is there just some sort of load detection circuit that makes it distinguish an atty from the charger?

The first one was freshly charged and the other one I had been vaping for a while with. Oddly both read 4.03v
Will it stay there until it gets to the 3.6, and then when it falls below 3.6 it uses a voltage booster to hold it at 3.6?

I guess I might as well ask my other question here too, I have another kr808 charger that looks identical to my volt one minus the logo, will any standard 808 charger work with the volt?

they will start fresh off the charger around 4.2 and fall to 3.6 and stay there right until before they die. Unregulated batteries start at 4.2 and fall steadily until they die.

It may be compatible and it may not be. Is the best answer I can give you. Some 808 chargers are meant for unregulated batteries and some aren't...either way it will charge your battery but may not be safe. Any non VOLT charger used voids the warranty.

OK, I just compared power ratings on my 808 chargers:

V2: Input: DC 5V Output: DC 4.2V ----200mA
This one charged, but very slowly and not all the way. Looks like the SI Spinner charger.
SI Spinner: Input: DC 5V Output: DC 4.2V----420mA

Elite VaporWorks: Input: DC 4.5V--6.5V 0.3A Output: DC 4.2V 0.15A
This one charged, but not all the way. Didn't charge the EVW battery all the way either. Looks like Volt charger.

Volt: Input: 5V Output: 4.6V----150mA
Original Volt charger, before the logo (sorry, gave all the logo ones away).

So I guess they do vary somewhat, even though they may look the same. And this is why they're not interchangeable, even though they all fit.
