This raised a question for me. I get why the U.S. doesn't ban combustibles, but don't get why any other country on the planet would ban eCigs but not combustibles? Would love to see how they justify that sort of thinking and whether it violates their founding principles (or current politics).

Probably much the same as here -- massive taxes on tobacco support the pork belly castles in the air. And of course some of those other countries just like to be oppressive for the fun of it.

Indeed, how can they ban vaping but not smoking? Just one of the many fascinating questions. I feel badly for Malaysian vapers who are old, infirm, poor, and vulnerable but this situation will be instructive for us, a proxy vape war. As the rhetoric gets more heated may be some truth will slip through the political cracks. May be their struggle will uncover some political risks our own dear politicians will take to heart.

So, you folks thought for even an instant that this vaping witch hunt was about health/safety/children? This has Always Been For The MONEY. Politicians Are Leaches Not Saviors!

Wait, you sure the witch hunt isn't due to those rebellious vapers that dared to vape in places where smoking isn't allowed? I heard it is PC to blame them for all of our woes.

So, next question, who do you think invented PC. .......Carefully Lift The Rock Before Screaming OMG!

ETA: Careful, when exposed to sunlight they will bite.

Good point Jman. I'll add it to the list.

Rebellious vapers
Cloud chasing
Non-smokers vaping
Exploding batteries
Sore throats
Hotel room smoke detectors
Formaldehyde
Teenagers
Mech mods
Dual use
Ohm’s Law
Dripping while driving
Beck
Stealth vaping
Walmart
Dry hits

If only we could clean up our act, maybe they would leave us alone.

Because 45% of Malaysian adults smoke and it would be political suicide to try to ban smoking.

Vaping, on the other hand, probably isn't popular enough yet to sway elections, although it's starting to get there; notice the world-wide sense of urgency to "do something" before it gets to that point?

Wow, 45%. I've read a lot of news stories from Malaysia and didn't notice that number. No doubt that includes muslims. I've said before, may be Malaysia is a vape proxy war where we can learn something from their battles. If so many Malaysians smoke then they might tend to pay attention to the vape option, especially if it is threatened.
