Nike has given Michael Vick a contract..are you kidding me.I wear Nike's but no longer.I will not support a killer of animals. He needs to be treated just like those animals. Now he will now profit when he should still be in prison.I bet just an ordinary Joe would still be locked up.Nike's new logo should now be.Vick standing over a dog with a bat saying..."Just Do It"....Nike I hope they go broke.Yes I'm a dog lover.I have 8 and could not imagine my life without them. They feel everything we as humans feel.I just wished the dogs could get some revenge on him...Like this... dogandvick.jpg

I don't like what he did, but he served his time....all you can do now is hope that he learned from it....

I'm a lover of animals and in no way think anything that he did was right, but I'm also human and make mistakes....and well so does everyone else.
Well said, and it reflects my thoughts exactly.

Thanks! :)

He caused countless animals unimaginable suffering. If he spent every minute of the rest of his life in prison as Bubba's beeyatch it wouldn't even come close to making up for what he did. Nothing could. All those dogs wanted was to please and to be loved, but instead they received torture and cruelty at the hands of a monster.

What he did was not just a "mistake", it was a way of living. When someone can not only witness and inflict that kind of unspeakable pain and terror, but derive pleasure from it, he is a sociopath (among other things). And I feel safe in assuming that that walk-in-the-park prison term he served did nothing to correct his sociopathy. If anything, it just made him more careful about getting caught.

If he spent years in intensive therapy and by some miracle developed a conscience, in addition to spending the rest of his life and all of his money rescuing animals, it still wouldn't be enough. That bell cannot be unrung.

So every time he stuck electrodes on those dogs he was just being human?.Running a stop sign is a mistake.Killing animals is just VERY,VERY, WRONG.Would you feel the same if it was a child he had molested and got just a little prison time and Pampers gave him a contract.Well if being human means making those kind of mistakes then I'd rather be a alien.

The simple fact is that dogs are animals and children are humans. And that makes all the difference in the world.

Just sayin'...

And a cruel heartless human who hurts the helpless should NEVER be excused. Never. What he did was not a MISTAKE. It was 100% intentional. I hope he is sorry every moment of his life, I wish he was sorry in jail, where psychos belong.

Your analogy would make sense if Vick had been given a contract by a company like Purina. He was given a contract by an athletic company. He plays football.

Aside from that, I think what he did was dispicable. And I agree that he never made any "mistakes"... he killed dogs for MONEY. Intentionally. No mistake about about it.

Agreed. Except to say that I dont think life in jail is necessary. Nor would I catagorize him as psycho. Just heartless.

From that standpoint the one thing about this case that makes me furious is how easy it is to find some case in which a child molestor or ...... got less time than this creep did for dog fighting and yet the media attention over this is much more magnified as if the dogs deserve more justice than a human being would.

I don't condone what Michael Vick did but at the same time, Noah didn't take two of every unclean animal and 7 of every clean animal & bird because he was partial, they were to be used for food. Michael Vick is a sick individual for gettings his jollys from watching other animals kill each other, but yet what do you expect from people in a society that devalues humans as much as people do ?

By definition, psychosis is a symptom or feature of mental illness typically characterized by radical changes in personality, impaired functioning, and a distorted or nonexistent sense of objective reality.
So, maybe I agree with you- I doubt his cruelty to animals was a radical change in personality- his cruelty spanned years. I was being far too generous, I stand corrected. Life in jail is the least he deserves. You are entitled to have mercy, I have no mercy for the sick &$@! he did.

I have opinions on what they should do to child molesters and rapists, too. I am not going into them because that wasn't what this thread was about. But, religious beliefs not being part of the picture or this discussion, I feel no mercy for them either. It's sick, whatever the victim, to be so unconcerned about inflicting physical pain that you enjoy it. It's unforgiveable. That's what I'm saying: Unforgiveable. EVER.

So animals have no feelings and should be treated as nothing?.The comfort us when we are sick as your own child would. They try and make you laugh when you are sad like your child would. They protect you just as you would do for your family. They understand words, hand gestures. They know the difference between you and a stranger. They know right from wrong. We count on them to find missing people, they help handicap people. They went into the World Trade Center after the attacks, would you have?So I do think of them as human and some humans could learn a good lesson from them.So if dogs are animals and children are humans. Then tell me why humans act as animals?

Listen, I love pets. I've had many dogs and cats in my life, and believe me, I understand about what you're saying. It's not that I have a callous attitude about the suffering those dogs endured.

I think Michael Vick's actions were as indefensible as they were despicable. But, he was given a punishment, served 18 of his 23 month prison sentence, and now he has done his time. I accept that, and I say let him go live his life.

At the same time, I don't support or applaud him, or even wish him well, and I'm not trying to defend him at all.
