You see I think why would you want some cheap mediocre preforming poorly built crap. So its really just a preference I enjoy my toys, and why do you feel that should end? Why dose it bother you? I bet you are in the same boat as the rest of us and are living on edge hoping the FDA doesn't shut us down. Yet you would do the same to others who like things different from you.

Why do you feel the world should do as MP2012 dose? What else should we do away with? Should we also drive cheap cars no radios, break all the smart phones way unnecessary. Everyone needs to buy their clothes from Dicky. whats with these new flanged TVs a black and white 13" is all that needed!
Enjoy your ecig dude Im glad you are happy with your set up. But dont look down your nose and condemn me because I like something different!

I'm not looking down my nose at anything, I love tech, I build comps for people and love shinies. What I was essentially saying is that I wished the market would bring out a carto that doesn't leak or an atomiser that performs well without you needing an engineers workshop to rebuild it, instead of loads of gadgetry to mods that I personally believe are pointless. I don't think the community should all like what I like, I also believe in innovation. I just wish we could get standardised working vapour delivery devices before we count how many puffs we have or have or have not taken.

The people who think I'm against a growing market have me wrong, this could of course be because I didn't put my point across eloquently enough.

I get what your trying to convey with your post, OP. I don't think we have to worry that the companies that produce the more simplistic product are going to jump on the higher end mod bandwagon. Each company has their own niche in the ecig market. That is why there are a variety of companies coming up with new product and have new products in developement.

Even the cig-a-like companies are developing better cig-a-like type devices. That is their market and there will always be new vapers and older vapers that will buy their product. If anything, they will strive to make those even better to keep the customers that have used the entry level device. They will realize that the products they sell need to be better or they will lose those customers to the higher end mods.

Smokeless Image is a company that comes to mind in regards to the above statement. Vision is another company that I see as coming out with better clearo's. If I understand correctly, there was a problem with their first version of the Nova and they worked with a company to fix those issues.

Different companies have their own place in the vaping world. Our devices are not made by one single company and I thank god that we have choices. There will always be a place for us that like simplicity and there will always be a place that like more advanced. Ecig companies recognize this just by the fact that we are spending our dollars on their devices. They pay attention when they lose customers due to bad devices and I'm sure they want keep us happy and spending.

Vendors have pages in this forum and if something goes wrong, I'm sure it gets back to the manufacturer. Just keep buying in the device level that you are comfortable with. That is what speaks....our money.

Like a lot of vapers on here I used to be a smoker. I'd go out and buy some baccy, roll my smokes and smoke them. I knew how much I smoked by knowing how many packets of baccy I bought and by how much money disappeared out of my wallet. Not surprisingly I didn't keep a spreadsheet on how many cigarettes I smoked. I just enjoyed smoking and got on with it.
Now, I'm a vaper. I have my twist and and my vivi, I know how much I have vaped by the amount of 10ml bottles of juice I have used and the amount of money from my wallet. What i don't need is a puff counter or the need to plug my equipment into my computer and download/upload info. I simply vape my juice and get on with my life.
Now, I know there will always hobbyists out there who will buy these devices like the eVic etc (and yes if you buy one you are a hobbyist) but I really hope the companies out there that build the vaping devices don't think we all want this pointless bs, cos we don't, some of us want to keep it simple and just vape instead of smoke.
Btw, i work in I.T., I'm not in a mood over this because I can't work the devices or anything like that. I just wish they'd bring out a better cartomiser or a cheaper yet still functional tank atomiser.
I realise that if this thread gets any replies I will probably get slated by all the people that have bought devices like these, but c'mon people, do we really need this kind of tech? Is this the direction we want the market and community to go in?
I think not.

MP.
you are missing the BIG picture.

Puff counter = Dosage meter

Remember when they hand pumped the gasoline up to a graduated glass bulb to judge amount?
Yeah, me either....

This is only the VERY beginning of this tech...

I get what you're saying but disagree with how far innovation has taken the simple devices. I just purchased a Volt from Smokeless Image and was very impressed how far the automatic kr808 has come since I bought one only a couple years ago. It's almost completely sealed and the auto switch works so much better. The only improvement I can see now for those would have to come in the form of next generation battery technology to increase the mah in cig size batteries. Boge cartos work a lot better then the cartos from then too and if someone comes out with a better performing carto then Kanger, Boge, or smoketek people will jump on them. Ikenvape, Cisco, and Hanna have improved atties over a few years back. Joyetech brought variable voltage to a simple fat bat devise. Clearos and tanks are improving almost weekly. Innovation happens quicker in ecigs then mostt any other market.

That's funny. My primary mode of employment is working in IT and Technology in General. I've been a computer geek since the C64 days. But now many moons later I tend to be a Luddite in that I don't like all the new fancy electronics that people burden their lives with.

Guess that's why I tend to like the Mechanical Mods.
