Are your Hybrid atty's dieying?

Hey forum, I have had two of the Vapage 1.5ohm hybrid bottom feeder atty's just up and quit after about ten days of using them. No warning, no taper off in performance, just a good solid hit one moment then dead the next with no reviving them. Yes I know there have been reports of them shorting out Reos', but luckily not mine.

Anyone else experiencing these atty's just quitting entirely?

I was warned before I got my first mini, not use these on it. However, I've used then on the Vmod (don't care for the mod) and didn't have any trouble with them. Sorry, I'm too chicken to put one on my Reo's. If a spring collapsed, I'd cry.

Staying away from them sounds like a damn good idea. If you want hybrid attys, use a HH357. Works very well with my grand. Also Cisco 306 attys work very well too. I dont have to squonk so often with 2ohm ciscos.

I had been monitoring the forum before investing, and waiting to see everyones experience. After reading enough I decided to pass.

There is a post or a thread here about the vapage attys where Rob said they are not recommended for the Reo. I'll see if I can find it. I think I also read some place that some other mods are having trouble with them too.

I'm going to be more like Bogey from now on and not immediately buy the latest wingding until it is proven and has good reviews. Being an addicted techno-junkie has cost me negatively several times. I think many companies are bringing items to market to feed this addiction without putting them through standards. In other words, the R&D department is focusing on D and not R.

Returned the Bottom Feed atty to Bruce at COV because of fears of frying my Grand. Bruce replaced with Top Feed Hybrid and it works fine, no problem with potential frying of unit. Rotating these 2 atties for over a month and no problems.

I had one DOA and one crap out after week. Was really good while it lasted though, reckless TH and very easy draw. No shorts or anything funky but QC needs some improvement.
