Soooo I would love to use my new reogrand however! I ordered a 510 addy with it, and I tried it out after of course trying one of the carto's I had already filled. They worked great, then it came to the addy, and boom, 1st fire, instant spring coil and nothing from the addy. Awesome, forgot to order replacement springs. Now the waiting game begins. Think he will replace the faulty addy? I just ordered more springs as to get them faster, I'll worry about the 8 dollars that crapy addy cost me later.

I see now why many people check new attys on a multi-meter before using them. How unfortunate for you. Sorry to hear that. PM Rob right away and see what he has to say. He is a good man and will do you right. Good luck.:)

What Roger said ^

PM Robert NOW! Let him know you got the atty from the site. He will take care of you!

It is always best to look at the bottom of an atty before putting it on. Cartos too, check and see if the center post is sticking out past the edge. It should be flat when you sit it upright, the center post should not be extended. That might prevent future shorts from a atty or cartos.

Things like this happen. But you will get yours up and running in no time!

Its odd, Karen. I have never checked my attys or cartos in any way before using them. Guess I'd better change my ways. I've obviously led a charmed vaping life so far.:)

I agree, it is something that seldom occurs. I also am lax in my assessment of atty's and cartos before screwing them onto my REO. Pick em up and put them on is just so easy!

I remember Robert saying also to make sure they are lined up right, be careful putting them on. And always remember not to over tighten them.

would it be a bad thing to bend the spring back out and still use the mod? wonder if it will re-shrink if it shorts again.

The spring is totally capable of being stretched back to a height that will allow your REO to work. However the spring will NOT retain the safety feature of collapsing if another short occurs.

So, yep ya can. But NO you should not!

That sucks bro I feel for you. As far as the center post mine sticks out slightly it works though is that a problem? I think I've always seen them out a very little bit on 510 atties.

Sent from my HD2 using Tapatalk

It might just be a matter of time before a short occurs. Then again you might get lucky and have no problem. Sometimes putting the atty on you can tap that center post on just the right place of your connector and a short will happen. It pays to be careful and hold the atty straight when putting it on. Do it slowly and carefully for optimal safety. And also, do not over tighten.

And you can check an atty with a multimeter before putting it on and still have a short. Just putting one on and making contact can be enough to cause a short but I think its still a good idea to check the position of the center pin visualy and use a multimeter.

I checked it after it blew my spring it that counts LOL .423 ohms

I keep some ego batteries laying around to test fire atty's on.. they are old but still do the trick..

Sometimes an atty can fire just perfect on another mod. In fact other connections can alter the center post. Not all connections are the same. Sometimes a atty will work on one REO and not another. I have had that happen with atty's and cartos.
