Maxi Roughstack v2 switch issues and post mortem- LONG

Based on this thread, a couple of other threads and that we just got a new batch of roughtacks in, we removed the spring assembly and have gone to a hardwire with a quick disconnect on the circuit board so the switch is still user replacable without soldering We still have thousands of the spring version out there that are working perfectly but there's always roon for improvement and the excellent observations and feedback have allowed us to make a better product!

Keep a lookout soon for an upgrade item on the roughstack page. If you have the spring contact type and feel the vapor production is low or it's bumming you out for whatever reason, we'll upgrade them for free.

We only ask that you pay shipping. We'll cover the parts and labor to upgrade em Should be on the website as soon as we get our act together and get a procedure in place..

I don't know if this is the appropriate place for a suggestion, but adding an LED to the Roughstack was really easy and adds confirmation that the atty is firing:

I just ordered a regular Roughstack. Will the switch be hardwired? Also my Maxi Roughstack switch failed again after 2 months and I put a trouble ticket it. I replaced the switch with a backup one I had, but then it melted the plastic tube. Do you have an ETA on the upgrade availability? Thanks!

How did u wire the led to it

try taking the switch apart and cleaning the spring and the wrap approx 80% or so of the spring with teflon plumbing tape . Be very careful and use 3 or more wrappings of teflon . best practice i have found to clean spring is to lightly scrub it with scotch-brite pads
