I never realized how bad I smelled until one time I could smell stale cigarette smoke in the car, where I never smoked. I wondered if there was something wrong with the ventilation system. It dawned on me that the air conditioning was blowing the stench coming off my clothes up to my face, where I could then smell it.

As for smokers getting sick more often: I have had the same doctor for 17 years. I have seen him so infrequently that I wouldn't know him if I passed him in public. I have to think really hard to remember his name, but I couldn't tell you where his office is. The first time I went there, I had a cyst. The next time, I had pneumonia. The next, I needed to see him before I could get a prescription for an antibiotic. That's the total extent of my interaction with the medical profession in the US. I emigrated here from Canada, where I hadn't had a doctor visit since the mid-'70s. I don't take any medicine because I'm not, and have scarcely, if ever, been sick. And I smoked for 42 years.

Yeah, because the smell of watermelon vape juice smells just as bad as analog.

I doesn't seem to matter to the public--it "looks" like smoking, and they confuse nicotine with the effects of tar in cigarettes. It seems that people are always able to find a justification for treating others with contempt.

You vs a billion smokers. You do the math.

Smokers are more prone to getting sick/ill (cold, flue, allergies) vs none smokers who exercise and live a healthier life style. And not all smokers live a healthier life style, some chose to eat a 12" meat ball sub at 12am in front of the tv.

Good luck justifying your BS statement.

If you cannot differentiate between practicing good health and living a lazy benign life style, smoker or non-smoker, you have already lost to the Propaganda machine.

If you were ever recorded as smoking, even once, and you die - it was a smoking related death. That is just the way the game is played.
Since the Drive to stamp out smoking by the ANTZ - No smoker has died a natural death even if their heart failed at 99 years old.

I've known several Fat Lazy Slobs that never made 50, were often ill and never once smoked.

YOU , KGB7, are the perfect ANTZ Weapon. :glare:

I will not beat down or abuse anyone for being where I once was nor will I deny them the opportunities I have had to change my life.:2c:

Speaking of smell from smoking--which makes me nauseous now--my husband still smokes--at home, in the car, etc. he world say since I used to smoke in those places too before I started vaping, he should have the freedom to choose where he wants to smoke and it's not fair for him to smoke outside now because I choose vaping.
He genuinely hates the smell of eliquid--any kind, dessert, fruit, tobacco, even the vapor from RDA annoys him--though after numerous complaints to me, he kinda just let me continue to vape and didn't try to convert me back to smoking.

So, I'm just happy that he respects my choice to vape, and in turn I respect his choice to smoke.

Sorry if it's a long read. Just thought this thread talks about a situation I face everyday. Thanks.

Sounds like youve been constipated for weeks with conspiracy theories, try drinking prune juice.

The key words in my post were..."more prone".
Get your self a dictionary.

NO. There also is no way poppy seeds will show up in any standard test, unless you make a tea extract. You would have to eat more bagels thdn possible. Our bodies dont naturally produce nicotine and anybody who test positive at any levels was using some form, so it doesnt matter to MOST insurance companies.

YES. Eating poppy seeds most definitely can cause a false positive on a drug test. There are tons of incidences where poppy seeds have caused people problems because of false positives for morphine. In fact, it's the reason federal guidelines were changed from 300ng/ml to 2,000ng/ml.

And while our bodies don't produce nicotine, since it occurs naturally in many foods, such as potatoes, tomatoes, eggplants, and red peppers, no one tests negative for nicotine (or cotinine, really, that's what they test for). As a result, like for opiates, guidelines have to be used to determine the cotinine level (and anabasine and/or anatabine level to rule out NRT's) for classification as a tobacco user.

As to the OP, I still love the smell of a freshly lit cigarette, but yeah, the stale smoke thing is pretty disgusting. But not so much that I simply can't stand it on other people. When I smell it I just thank the powers that be that I don't smell like that anymore. See? A positive take away from smelling old smoke! ;)

Now that the weather's getting mild someone is smoking outside my window and it does stink a lot! I'm amazed it wasn't told to me more often by others. That's a lot of compassion they had!
It really is amazing that the only person that ever told me I stunk was my wife.
And unfortunately, I actually thought she was full of it.

Although I hate to admit it the smell was the biggest reason I wanted to quit smoking and probably what keeps me from ever going back. Probably because I was always a very healthy person and like so many short sighted healthy individuals  it was not at the forefront of my thoughts but the smell from smoking... well I worked in health care and when you have patients remarking on your stinky cig smell it's seriously embarrassing (+ add to that the no-nic hiring policies going on in the healthcare field it is akin to slitting your own professional throat, yes, I WAS at 0 nic) but honestly I don't ever see myself becoming one of those judgmental ex-smokers I remember what it felt like when people were unkind to me about it besides my mom has the corner on being the judgmental one :D
