army and mall approve of ecig

Yeah I'm in the navy, but stationed ashore at an army base and i can use my e-cig at my desk where as all tobacco products are prohibited in the building. it's nice especially when it's raining and/or cold outside.

Actually, the rate of smoking in the military has gone up due to OEF, etc., deployments. And the brass are not pleased.

Maybe some vendors out there could donate some starter kits to some troops who would like to try them out. Hey - young folks love tech stuff.

As a vet who understands the lure of nicotine when in the sandbox, I'd love to find ways to help these guys get off the cancer stick before they become hopelessly addicted, and end up like me - a 30-year smoker with all the unpleasant side effects that go along with it. I realize that there are logistical problems with charging batts in the field, etc., but at least they could vape back in the hooch.

These guys are coming home with addictions that will haunt them the rest of their lives.

How about it, vendors? Anybody willing to step up to the plate here? Even free shipping or free juice would be a start. Just a thought.

I think this is a great idea. My husband and I were both in the Army and both deployed for OEF, and he for OIF as well. E-cigs would have been awesome. Seems like there is a vendor (forgive me, I can't remember which one) who ships to APOs and has a deal for deployed troops. And again, I can't remember exactly what the deal is. Seems like it was extra batteries for free with an order, or something like that. Maybe extra liquid, too.

in the british infantry training if you get caught smoking they force you to eat your cigs and go for a looooooong run. i am about to go in for parachute regiment training. and i am probably going to have to hide my vaping habits. also if you get caught with alcohol they force you to drink until you are throwing up then make you go for a run until you pass out. my mate has experienced this haha

Hmm mall walkers are creepy, every morning the bitty bluehairs would stop and bother me, then came the roaving horde of mommies with their lovely bundles of joy and close exits to exercise like a herd of spandex clad bikers.
The old crusty vets did not bother me at all and still run into a few here and there and most of them smoke or quit after an induction into the zipper club.

As far as I am aware sprint does not run mall kiosks anymore and have not for several years, in fact post nextel merge sprint sold all of the kiosk retail space along with the workers. So radio shack or other 3rd party vendor if I am not mistaken. I do not think sprint as a company would look down at all on vaping since they are major pro green and pro health. I know a few of my sprint co workers are totally anti smoking and whine about it all the time.

As far as field charging I have an idea that I will test out as soon as I get my kit. A Solio solar charger... I do not see why it should not work with a usb pass through or even top up a PCC unit.

I am currently stationed at Ft. Drum and have been vaping for about 6 months now. As I PCS'd here I was concerned about my ability to vape. Well, I am pleased to say that I have had no problem vaping in my office and motor pool at all. I have alot of Soldiers that ask questions or comments about how cool it is that I am vaping indoors when it is wet and COLD outside. I don't push it on anyone but as everyone knows, it attracts attention and questions from smokers and non-smokers alike.

I was down in GA TDY for 6 weeks and since I left, they have formed their own club and more and more are converting at Ft. Gordon. One individual has even started his own business, selling LOCALLY. They are all vaping indoors at their location and have had no resistance. In fact, the non-smokers have no problem smoking at their desks and are encouraging because no more smell of smoke after someone comes in and a healthier choice by far.

I do think the hardest part for many Soldiers to get started is they can't see it and get their hands on anything locally...the closest Pilot gas station is in Syracuse, and (thank goodness) the Smoking Anywhere kiosk at the local mall shut down.

Though I would like to actively persue higher command to inform them of e-cigs, I haven't gotten to that stage yet. My CO and 1SG have NO problems with me vaping indoors.

For me, the best thing would be if they would sell liquid or at least carts right along with the analogs here. Maybe even if the shoppette could sell starter sets would be great. I don't know how to get into the shoppette market but heck that would be a worldwide ability to promote!
