its a 3.5mm id 26-32 awg 8 wrap vert 1.3 Ohm and great @ around 30-35 watts

Single vert Clapp right down the middle or the two posts on one side with a 5 or 6mmid?

I just put in a single fatty braided coil and it's performing well. I positioned it right down the middle horizontally and squished down so it's flush with the tops of the posts so my wicks wouldn't be 3' long...

Two posts on one side i only put the 3.5 mm coil in it because it was on the shelf ready and waiting .

with it set-up like this i like a 4.5mm id coil but the 3.5 was there so in it went .

I do like dual coils but i find with fresh coils a single will flavor up quicker than duals.

I was messing around with my Aromamizer a while back and discovered a cool way to do a single coil set-up without building between the posts on the velocity deck ,this will also work with the velocity RDA and mini and some other RDA's with velocity style build decks, that do not have airflow holes under the normal coil positions.

The pos center pin post needs to be removed , and comes out pretty easy
View attachment 539346
The way i did this without damaging the post itself or the center pin screw or threads

Take out ie undo the center pin screw from the base of the atty and use the blunt end of a 3mm drill bit which is a snug fit in the insulator bush and gently tap out the post .

drill bit size it pretty critical as to big and you may damage the insulator bush and too small and you could damage the threaded screw hole.

ITS PRETTY EASY BUT YOU ARE DOING THIS AT YOUR OWN RISK .

In the above pic you can see a small silicone shim ,i cut from a piece of tube its only thin so it is held in place when post is replaced .
The extra hole i added is only realy needed if you want to run large coils and higher wattage. it helps as two of the normal holes are now blanked off .
The reason for blanking the two holes is so there is no need to try and cover them with wick to save flooding issues.View attachment 539378 View attachment 539379
above pic shows all the juice holes used an unused the extra drilled juice hole can be covered by silicone shim if you decide to revert back to dual coil mode.
View attachment 539381
for air flow you will now use two air holes next to each other rather than opposite and the air will hit the coil from both directions ie 45 degrees apart.
this is done with a hole punch and any old spare vape band you have to hand.View attachment 539382
here are a couple of pics to show what is now poss with the extra room on the deckView attachment 539383 View attachment 539384
this is what i have been using for the past week or two and its flawless not a dry hit .

findings so far are less juice consumption and less battery drain due to single coil mode .

The main reason for this long post and explanation is i have searched the web and seems no one has done this yet to this atty and thought i would just put it out there so you can have more build options and make a great atty even more versatile.

please let me know what you think of this and show your builds not if but when you decide to try this config out

like i say if you go full on and drill the extra hole it can be covered with silicone shim when you put it back to normal mode

REMEMBER you saw it here first.
Howd u get the post out, mine wouldnt budge

Howd u get the post out, mine wouldnt budge

if you read the first post in this thread its all explained

there are a couple of ways to remove the post you do this at your own risk

1st is to use a 3mm drill bit use the blunt end and remove the 510 center screw from atty and use the drill bit placed in the hole and gently tap and the pin will slowly come out as it is a tight fit.

a 3mm drill bit is the right size to use any other to big or to small could poss damage the thread or the bush.

2nd way is to use a threaded atty stand or base ( NOT A MOD WITH SPRUNG LOADED CENTER PIN ) unscrew the center pin from the atty a couple of turns and screw atty into the stand or base this will press the pin up very slightly then remove atty and do the same again and screw back in to stand or base and the post will move up a little more keep doing this until the center screw is almost out . DO THIS A COUPLE OF THREADS AT A TIME NOT ALL AT ONCE .as you could damage the thread or center screw
this method will gently push the post up and out of the atty .
when putting the post back in use a drill bit or small rod and place end over the part of the post that goes through the insulator bush and gently tap it back in then replace center screw and tighten to secure the post .DO NOT TAP ON THE TOP OF THE POST ABOVE COIL FIXING HOLES AS YOU COULD BEND BREAK OR SNAP THE POST.

first time you remove the post it is very tight once done a couple of times it gets easier but still a very snug fit.

It gives you so much more deck space to do a good single coil set-up and it still tastes great.

I would say a good single coil set-up in this atty done right is ALMOST as good as dual coils a little less vapor but still plenty of flavor its a close one.

enjoy

i've done this set up but it gives me dry hits sometimes. i've added additional 2 2mm holes in order to feed the hungry coil and sometimes the wick is melting in the middle of the coil at some point even i've just change the wick. by the way my build is 5 raps 4mm ID of clapton coil. maybe you could help me cant find what i was doing wrong to the big single coil build.

have you got any photos of your deck mod , as i only added one extra hole , and have since enlarged all the other holes.

have never seen a wick melt yet ,i have seen them catch fire in youtube videos .

my now modded build deck and the original without mod

i have no wicking problems such as any dry hits etc

as mentioned in the original post if you do not enlarge the holes and still blank off two of them, small coils and reasonable power are ok, (look at pics 1 & 2 above for example) but if you try to up the power to much with bigger coils you will need the extra juice flow options,or dry hits due to not enough juice is going to happen .

it looks genuine alright and not a clone

you have the post config ok

before you re-wick it can you take a pic or two of the base under the coil no need to remove the coil etc i just need to see how you have the juice holes configured

and that coil looks like it needs a clean .

if it is kanthal or stainless

i do a dry burn and quench to clean my coils

run a cold water tap at a slow trickle pulse your coil without wick until it glows then release fire button and place you glowing coil under the trickle of water from the tap .

be very careful as not to get your mod wet and just the coil.

do this a few times and the gunk ie caramalized sugars all that nasty black stuff will shatter away from the surface of the coil .

and your coil should look fresh and clean again.

the condition of your coil as it looks is prob the reason you getting dry hits and burnt taste.

try cleaning your coil as above and wicking as i explained in pm and let me know how you get on

and show pics of how you have done the deck with two extra holes .

you must be using a realy sweet juice ie a coil killer

or you vape like a train to gunk a coil like that in just 2 days

i thought i was bad but my coils last at least a week before they look anything like that and i DIY my own juice , my ADV is a real bad coil killer but it is just so lovely. thats the main reason i rebuild

a qiuck clean re-wick and im good to go again

Excellent work on the modifications, that 6mm coil looks like cloud and flavor beast.

yes its a BEAST alright

Great cloud and flavor for a single coil on a tank big wick means lots of juice .

unless you DIY your own juice its not realy recomended to go that big as it just mops up the stuff as fast as you can feed it.

3mm - 4.5mm id is great

the 6mm id was just done for kicks and giggles to see if it was poss and it vaped realy realy nice but it did a full tank around 6mls in a few mins so yes its a BEAST and drinks like one also

if you open the deck up fully like in the latest pic it should pretty much keep up with any build you want to throw at it

6mm id coil.jpg

just had a thought 6mm id coil 6mls juice vaped in under 6 mins the DEVIL is in the details. LOL

yup looks filthy alright(LOL) but i just used that for only 2 days.. yes i will post the pics tomorrow.
Wow, all that gunk just after 2 days?

I've always dreamt about having a monkey that could build and wrap coils for me. It looks like you need one a lot more though [emoji204]
