ARRRG Fogger V4

Just received my Fogger V4 from Desire ECigs yesterday and let's just say I'm having some issues. Built a nice set for 28ga 8 wrap coils, fiddled around and got them mounted and positioned, check resistance on my ohm meter and bang came up 8.88 or 0.00 however you want to read the short code. Figured I'd try it on my mvp and same thing 0.0. Pulled everything apart thinking I may have shorted something re wrapped two more coils and boom same thing. needless to say the third time was not the charm. I did soak everything in alcohol, cleaned and dried it before it built it (smelled of machine oil). Is there something I'm missing?
I did notice there was no 510 center screw mounted in the bottom after watching a couple vids but the one vid from their website didn't have one installed and it worked for them. I did however find an extra screw in the parts bag that was the correct threading and installed it with and without an o ring and same thing...
I'm stumped, any help would be greatly appreciated.

Honestly sounds like you got a dud :/ I would just go and replace it if you still can.
The main thread http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/rebuildable-atomizer-systems/545703-fogger-v4.html has 115+ pages right now and nobody else reported an issue like this, as far as im concerned. So let's just hope you were unlucky with the one you got and hopefully they will replace it for one that will then work.

Your MVP probably won't read the resistance with the amount of wraps you have. What kind of ohm meter do you have? Can it read resistance below 1 ohm?

Just a standard 20.00 black ohm meter, it reads down to at least .19 with my dual twisted twisted 32 build

Probably needs to be replaced as RadicalMind stated, but you could try a single coil for the fun of it. When trouble shooting, it's always best to go as simple as possible.

Yeah been there done that, just wanted to make sure tg ere wasn't something simple I missed. Guess its back on the slow boat to China

Is your pin located in the 510 connection protruding enough to make connection? Having it all the way in might be the problem.

Could it be your coils are shorting against the chimney? The V4.0 and V4.2 do have a smalll chamber to work with.

It's definately making connection, I'm not getting the l reading on my ohm meter getting the crazy eights. And nothing grounding out as far as I can tell, I haven't even put the chimney on it yet.

there should be a white delrin insulator between the positive post block and the deck, and another cylinder looking delrin insulator in the center of the 510 connector, where the long screw goes in from the bottom to hold the positive post block onto the deck. Then there is the adjustable screw that goes in from the bottom onto that long screw, that acts like your adjustable 510.

Check those insulators to make sure that they are present and not damaged.
