arrrrg! bottle exploded on me!

was refilling my vapeonly bcc mega with 50/50 36mg cake batter from Dark City Vapor and found the bottle to be a bit tough to get any juice to actually come out. so i squeezed a bit harder to get more than 1/2 a drop at a time when it just went POOF. 15ml flying through the air and onto me and the floor.

AAARRRRRRRRRRRGHHHHHHHHH!

luckily i have hazadous material training from a past job and rushed to the bathroom shucking clothes as i ran to the shower to run under hot water for 5 minutes. just a little upset that the bottle exploded on me and wasted over half my bottle from a dip topper that seems to be too small for 50/50 juice. has a wierd kinda flow limiter thing like you find on high proof alcohols.

anyone else have something like this happen? i guess i need to stock up on syringes just so this wont happen anymore. but afraid ill break my syringes (destroy the rubber plunger, done it many times when drawing sons medications) trying to pull up thick liquids.

tldr; squeezed bottle too hard. good flavored juice that just got done steeping exploded all over me and the floor. tis a reason to cry.

For thicker juices, I always use an eyedropper.

I use a syringe that initially came with a bottle of meat marinade. Works great for measuring out my VG for DIY.

The drip cap on the bottle was defective.

I've run into this problem once or twice. Running a push pin into both ends of the drip cap will cure this.

Keep in mind I use 95% VG juice which is really thick.

Ive spilled juice all ove my no bad affects except for wasting money. I spilled cake batter on some paper work once when I sent it in the sectary called and told me I sent the yummiest paper work shes ever gotten;-) Youll be fine I like those needle tip bottles with the silicone cap. Lots of people sell them.

Next time anyone gets a chemical spill on the skin, I really suggest cold running water.

It was probably a piece of frosting that got stuck in the mix by mistake.

Or maybe you let the juice get too hot (sun?) and some cooked.

As I DIY my juice, I don't have that issue.

I've forgotten to be worried about e-liquid anymore. I keep wet wipes nearby, but to wipe my hands because they are sticky, not due to exposure to nicotine. I use 6mg-12mg and haven't gotten nic sick yet from spills, just occasionally from over vaping. As previously posted, needle caps make filling a lot easier, but I still tend to get juice on my hands (and lips and in my mouth).

yeah, but i cant stand cold water when running to the shower, and just trying to rise it off quickly i turned on both faucets to get the most water pressure.

im planning to get some needle caps when i get into my DIY soon-ish. and with your lower nic levels im not sure id be too worried. but with my nic level at 4-8x of yours it could of been a possibility of getting overdose from ~7ml splashed on my skin.

i too have wet wipes near me for sticky hands. but mine is mostly from a 2 year old eating a sucker, or se......g some sticky substance through his hands that only kids seem able to do.

I agree with yzer. I've had some bottles that just don't drip good and I could tell if I squeezed them too hard, the top would pop off. Luckily I never had one actually pop off on me.

Soak the top in hot water. Blow it out (in reverse direction) to dislodge any bits of cooked cake.

I agree with yzer. I've had some bottles that just don't drip good and I could tell if I squeezed them too hard, the top would pop off. Luckily I never had one actually pop off on me.

I've also had some weird bottles (of course I can't remember the vendor) that the needle caps wouldn't fit on. Luckily, I have lots(!) of empty bottle around to switch them.

I would suggest though, If you like liquids that come in stiff bottles(I have a few) order a few Needle dropper bottles to transfer liquid into. These make filling much easier.

The whole drop and run to the shower thing though 0o....bit of an over reaction honestly. Ejuice isnt Hydrofluoric acid 0o

its just habit from when i worked in a chemical warehouse. if there was a spill you were supposed to go straight to the nearest emergency shower to clean yourself then get properly suited up to clean the mess. it also seems that im using 2-8x stronger nic that most people use on here. they all seem to be 6-18mg while im at 36mg hardly staying off cigarettes. all saftey for diy says to immediently wash any skin contact and to use glove when handling high strength liquid. which i would think mine is.

It seems to me you are not getting the nic from your vapor like most people do... Have you tried this:
Draw the vapor gently into your mouth.
slowly exhale through your nose
do that again.
then inhale to your lungs after drawing to your mouth for that satisfying feeling you got from smoking.

the membranes of your mouth and nose absorb the nic in your vapor, where with tobacco smoke, there are many added ingreedients to stick the nicotine in your lungs for absorption.

but on topic:
I've had some bottles that the liquid started leaking out around the threading. switching to a different cap or whole new bottle solved the issue. If the bottle is too stiff to easily squeeze, then you DEFINITELY want to switch to a different bottle. I also use thick juices and do that all the time.
