Hi Freddy and Bert...love when you pop in. And that story really made me think...the hard times we go through only make our successes seem sweeter.
Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend!
Oh and can't wait to order my own custom....with what I've seen so far, I know it will be gorgeous!

whoa! pain, you have some streeeeeetch! going on.

I've also made custom ear plugs, horns :) they're not as easy to make as they seem...size matching a pair and all. Fun to do. Hit me up anytime you want some made.

Haha yes stretch for quite some time now. That's cool! :D

with a pat on my back, I can honestly say this could be done for you!

I have to say, it would be in 'honor' of Dale Chihuly, whose "dialog" has been exploring this type of glass composition for quite some time now. He's the "innovator" :)

Wow that looks incredibly hard to make! :toast:

Just caught up with the thread, I really like the chandelier you did Freddy! I'm trying to look around right now and think of what would be better in glass

But you know what they say, people in glass houses shouldn't have babies...

Have you made small pocket-sized jars that seal airtight? :D

Love all the glasswork pics and talk and such.............customs! Any idea when the custom ordering will be available to all?

I'm meeting with Bert on the phone sometime this weekend and "catching up" on eachother's current agenda...I can't imagine it will be much longer, Bonnie. I'm comfortable with the way the custom system is currently working. Excited to devote independent attention on custom Trippy Tips, myself. :)

snork! yea, a "baby proof" home is not so friendly to fragile glass, huh?

To 'explain' a little what's going on with this (the one Seraphina brought up) chandelier. Every piece you see is individually fabricated and placed together to form. The majority of the glass you are looking at has been blown into an "optic mold" to get the ridges you are looking at. the curls and pointy forms were created after it was ridged in the optic mold.

It's an interesting one for me to look at as a fabricator, because I use completely different types of glass and equipment and it would require some bridging of techniques and styles from both flameworking and offhand glassblowing. Which happens to be my primary study in glass :D

Wow Freedy you took me back. In 2000 we did the Disney Cruise. The first destination was the Atlantis in Nassau that had just opened. Our tour of the resort took us to Dale Chihuly's Temple of the Moon and the Temple of the Sun. We were blown away by they're majesty and beauty.

Here's the Temple of the Sun...
