just doing what i love is all I would say...gotta always pay it forward, my friend :)

for those of you who don't yet know my associate James Yaun (the dolphin non dichro art glass) He's an amazing marble maker, father and friend.

This is close to a six inch orb he fabricated solo, a true work of utmost art. We both love metal veiling and this is as close to visionary art as it gets....it's currently valued at over $5000 and definitely one of the biggest of it's kind. He considers this orb his best work to date. I work with him on these and schedule days at a time when necessary. It is borosilicate (pyrex)

That is amazing, i collect glass orbs/balls/paperwieghts. That one of the most amazing, I hate to ask how much does he charge for something like that. I used to have an awesome key fob that L.A. Eyeworks used to sell, they were glass eyes. This give me an idea for a custom drip tip. We will talk soon

I have to add that James Yaun has been a dedicated marble maker for over 10 years, his body of work is world wide. This is one of the largest orbs he's ever done. We've done larger together.

Freddy Faerron Orb.jpg

Here's a 6 1/8 inch orb we created with one of asheville's artist Shannon Norris

notice the non dichro?

I love it!! Was that a custom for someone? :)

this little one just came out. dolphin form has been a dedicated study for years but never! thought I'd be working them in this size. this kind of work happens after a focus grouping of hours flameworking and they're from the twilight zone of trippyville :p

I'm visiting donuts this week and Bert's visiting custom, or I'll be up on it later this week. Josh Hamra is very excited to explore this dialog, and I feel he will be growing into it very well. He's a second generation glass artist and a third gen. artist as well. Sure proud to be here, inspiring him.

I also contacted James Yaun on a collaboration series of trippy tips today, we'll be working together on trippies that will dedicate a few days of attention each (as small batches) So, they will be in a independent trippy price range (over the rainbow?) that will only include extremely dedicated works.

that, what i just said...alll! happened because of this little guy

he's a lucky trippy!

Whew! Just caught up!
Hi guys, I'm back. Had class night and had to turn right around and teach this morning, then had meetings. Don't these people think about easing back in? :D

Great pics. Freddy the dolphin is awesome! Mal's right; I can't wait to see what you come up with when it's my turn!

Good luck, Willow. Hope you get feeling better soon!

I tend to agree with Blu and the others; I generally don't take my donuts out and about.

I knew it was too good to last! My mailman has been performing awesomely all summer. Now there's 2 packages that were supposed to be delivered yesterday that still haven't shown up! We're definitely gonna talk tomorrow!

Anyway, I'm off for a siesta. Wish me luck! I"m going to try my hand tonight at wrapping my first coil!

It's just the only way I can feel comfortable to explore all of my current thoughts and as well introduce peers that are world known in their own "dialog"...
