Freezing my .... off. It's 40F/4.4C here today, doesn't seem like the heater is keeping up. :(

Damn thats cold :(
Don't think I've been that cold since the last time we went snowboarding. So did your place end up flooding like you were protecting against? Last time I asked you guys had just weathered the midwest storm and were awaiting sandy :(

While I wouldn't mind visiting, I'm a firm believer in "you live longer in the environment in which you were born". Read an interesting article concerning the phenomena many moons ago and forcing people from colder climates to live in warmer climates helped alleviate some symptoms of ailments like arthritis and back pain but it didn't help with longevity. My family has lived within a 150 mile radius of where I live now since 1670 and before that it was England, Russia and Norway. I was not built for Sunny and 80°F ten months a year;Three is plenty. So come on Old Man Winter...Bring it on! The only thing I don't wish for is ice. :p Brew

Low mid 50's hi mid 80's here and nothing but sunshine forecasted here for the next 6 months it's gonna be a rough winter :p

No, thankfully.. Sandy pretty much fizzled out and the last of her rained on the next town over.

We do have the upstairs neighbor's kitchen sink flooding our ceiling and there is a release valve in our downstairs storage locker that's leaking and making all our stuff down there mold though. Maintenance guy is coming next week to fix those issues. Always something.

Well that rocks Cyclin,
So did you manage the wick loop without the figure-8 fold? If so I'd be interested to hear how you did it. How many ohms did your coil meter out to? 6 wrap...Wow..I've decided it's about time to rebuild the 5 wrap so may have to go for 6 given a little insight from you. In any case, glad to get you going in the right direction. :headbang: Brew

Morning Tripsters :)

How goes it?

Brew I made a new wick/coil setup to your specs using a 6 wrap and it is hitting like a freight train! :vapor: Thanks for all the info man :D

Hey Fisty, how goes it. Made an avatar switch huh. The other one was making me want to be Speed Racer.... Sorry but Fridays always find me a bit punchy. Hope your having a good day and glad to hear you all aren't getting punished by Sandy. Brew

Awesome glad to hear you guys were spared the worst of it :) Hopefully there won't be too much water damage from the leaks. Hey are you anywhere near Troy? I have family there and I've been trying to get ahold of them to see how they fared

Hmm I'm pretty sure I did everything wrong but for some reason it worked flawlessly. First i took a short piece of silica and folded it in half. I then twisted the looped end once and wrapped my coil on the two trailing legs. I hit the entire thing with a torch to remove some of that initial silica taste. Using a pair of tweezers I placed the loop around the center post to the base of the ERA, and then inserted the coil legs. I trimmed the ends of the wick, squonked a bit and bam, fired right up :)

I don't have a multimeter here with me and my wife has the Provari with her today so I'll have to double check the ohms when I get home. Each coil fires up evenly, let me see if I can get a good pic... I didn't actually check the resistance after checking for hotspots as its on a VW device. If you can't tell from how I wrapped it I was being a little lazy yesterday

This picture isn't very good.

Puritanism still flourishes. Smokers should be 18 or older so at times I am a bit befuddle by the moral codes here. However, I abide by them as there are other forums without them and they definitely run amok. Either way it's still in my head along with alot of other extraneous stuff. Which makes me recall an old Blue Grass verse....You can lock me up and throw away the key but ya can't keep my face from breaking out..My brain is a very scary place. Brew

Yeah.. a moderator made me. =(

Looks just like mine with more wraps. I need to figure out how that poster got the single leg of the wick to go under the coil without doing the fold-over/Figure-8 we both use. However it works well, so if I can't figure out how to make it pretty then at least I'm not stuck with something that doesn't vape well.

Hmm do you think they didn't do any folds? And just wrapped on a single leg then fed the other side of the silica around the post, back between the posts and under the coil?

Here I drew this up really quick, pardon the quality but I did it really fast and I'm also no Fisty
