This is just a friendly warning. While I was away this weekend I pluged in my Ultra Fire Battery charger and blew the light socket out plus the mains and serverly burnt my hand. So everyone please be careful when charging your batteries. Now I am madly trying to buy a charger before my batteries run out which is hard to do in Australia.

That's horrible Vintage. Take care of your hand. Do you think there was a loose wire? Not sure if a surge protector strip would have helped out in a situation like that or not.

It was only a matter of time Brutus. Give it some time and the others will pull out, too. People will figure it out on their own at some point and time. I do think that it all depends on how you tell your story and some folks just aren't able to do it in a way that turns on the light to see the truth behind the curtain.

Oh Vintage! Did you go to hospital for your hand? So glad it wasn't worse. I always worry about my batts since I had a Riva melt in the charger. I don't use those anymore hardly but there is still always the chance. I've been watching what Roly and others have to say about stacking batts because I bought 16340's for the touchwood I have ordered and will be stacking. I've had such bad luck with chargers lately (2/4 were bad) that I always keep an extra on hand. I wish I could send you something overnight.....

Vintage: sorry to hear that, hope you are fine. now all will tell you what to do, give advice but really do yourself a big favor and get a quality charger!! I did 2 years ago and never regretted it!

What did you buy? A Pila? I've been using the AG-126 from Madvapes....

IME, I'm paranoid about mods and batteries too-but worse than most. I've got one Paws(ordered another Friday for a spare), and 5 18650's for it, with 2 more ordered this week(are some getting just a little weak?), and I have 2 Buzz Pros(the new one is going to the Buzzpital this week, good thing I keep a spare! I have 9 working PAIRS of 16340's, and a few spares from where the mates failed.
An 18650 lasts me about 15 hours, and the 16340's last around 4 hours.
And if worse comes to worse, I can always use the 16340's in the Paws. :)

the trick is to have extra batteries and mods laying around, haha! i have 2 sets of batteries for each mod i own currently i have three in rotation, for 18350s i can get a day out of them at 2.5ohm 4.5-5v

Emonty which one did you get? I am looking right now.
It happened as I was plugging it in and I think my ring must have touch a point or something because the ring on my finger melted.

Oh man, vintage -- you took a direct hit. It sounds to me like the electricity arced right to your finger. Were you able to get the ring off without a lot of skin? Watch that hand for infection!

Vintage, I keep my battery chargers in a large Pyrex bowl, just in case! I had a charger once melt a plug too. Very scary.

Well they cut what was left of the ring off. I am now wondering how safe carrying around batteries is in handbags and the like. I always have spares ready to go.

Yes I had to go to hospital but all is fine now, just painful to move but lots of bandages. The Doctor said I was lucky I didn't lose a finger. It gave me such a jolt and scared the begebeees out of me.

Bless your heart. You are now my twin, because I had the same thing happen to me once when I was welding. Yes, I used to be a welder, down in the big state of Texas. I made the mistake one day of keeping a ring on my finger and when I went to strike an arc, it jumped right across my hand from below the thumb toward my ringer finger. It was a blaze, but not of glory. When I shook off the glove there was a strip across my hand to the ring and my skin was bubbling like a piece of bacon in the frying pan. I imagine yours was the same but it sounds like it made it all the way to the ring which is much worse. I can't imagine how painful that is for you. I know I don't have to tell you to be very careful with that finger for the next couple of days. (((( Hugs ))))
