In order to fabricate Bert's Trippy Tips, I had to devote a tremendous amount of research. I had to "see" my dialog with glass in such a minimal perspective, that it was humbling to see failure in my control skills at first. I now hold such a deep degree of respect for Bert's capabilities and skill in creating an item that is so challenging for someone like me. I have studied, researched, taught and learned glass lampworking and cold working for close to 15 years now (since 1997) My best teacher (Matt Eschuke) taught me the right technique, the value of control and importance they carry. He taught me that if you can create your dialog with glass in the smaller of forms=to the largest of form you have mastered technique and form. So, here they are. My microcosms of glass, my little paintings, my dialog inspired by Bert. I am honored to be creating the trippy tip and proud to say I have learned the most valuable lesson of my career doing so. So, thank you tripsters ...you have made me a better artist.
