It was quite the day. I would be sleeping if I knew how. I was able to get access to the house today, but the will was gone. I think that ...... that was messing with me yesterday got rid of it. I wound up having to call the cops on him at the funeral home for stalking me. 6 hours he waited outside of the place for me to come out. The cops told me they couldn't follow me home or anything to make sure I wasn't followed. So, I recalled a couple of occasions when my dad told me, if you're in trouble, call the club. So I did. Turns out, biker clubs really are like they show on tv. There was no organized crime that I could see, but outside of that it was the same. They offered me escorts if I needed to go back to dads house, a body guard if I was harassed again, and anything else they could do to make sure I had what I needed. They are going to escort me back to his home town and we will release half of his ashes on the open road. The other half I bury with my grandmother. I put "live long and prosper" on his headstone and I am going to play the intro song to Star Trek. He was a total Trekkie, and I could feel him smiling when I did it. I was finally able to get the whole story about what happened. He got a call from a friend telling him that the police were looking for him. He assumed that they were coming to arrest him so he went in his back yard and shot himself in the head with a 45. Turns out, the police only wanted to question him about something following up on a previous interview. Bills weren't paid in months, so lots of creditors to contact. I haven't even told my mother yet. It's like a bad dream that I can't wake from. But, I will be okay eventually, and it seems I have everything I need to wrap this up, it's just a lot of work getting through it all.
I'm really sorry you are going through all of this. I know it's the last thing you needed right now. I'm glad a few things are getting worked out and I will continue to pray for you and know that we are all behind you for support whenever and however we can offer it.
Amber - it's nice your Dad's bike friends are helping you ..... sounds like you wouldn't want them against you.

Amber, talk to a lawyer before you start paying his bills out of your money. I don't think you're liable for his debts, even if you're the beneficiary. After Mom passed, we negotiated her credit card bill down significantly.

Amber - Reid is right ... any bills get paid by the "Estate". If there's no money in the estate, the bills don't get paid.
Now if anyone is on the bills with him, well then they go after them. But it's not your responsibility.

Amber, do you know who his lawyer was? The person who prepared the will would likely have a copy. Such a tragedy for you and it must be tough to heal from with these extenuating circumstances.
