Gratz, Fudgey. Brew, I'm glad you and yours are fine. Those tornadoes looked horrible.
With the ever-changing weather we've been having here, I'm afraid I'm coming down with a cold. The last thing I need a week before driving home for Thanksgiving. Gonna stop by the store on the way back from class today and get drugs, lol. I'm also going to make a mess of greens and try out a new sweet potato recipe: Chipotle Smashed Sweet Potatoes.

hi all, been a busy couple days for me but counting down the days for a bit of a thanksgiving break and then my long christmas break.. yes, i said christmas,lol.

On another thread I read someone already putting up their Christmas decorations Too soon? I usually do a twofer -- have it up for Thanksgiving and Christmas! 
My mom-in-law puts up her decorations right after halloween!

Fortunately she doesn't go all-out until after Thanksgiving, just a few little things. My neighbors, however, had their Xmas tree up and lit on Halloween

Keeping wicked busy lately. Have a couple long weekends coming up and a whole week off for Xmas and let me tell ya time off from work can't come fast enough . . .

We like to put up the tree Thanksgiving weekend, which is why I'm really trying to get home. I'm pumping Vitamin C and popping Cold-eze, lol. BTW, my greens were awesome as always. Did you know a serving of collard greens has 50% of the RDA of vitamin C? and mustard greens has 100%. The chipotle sweet potatoes were interesting. At first, I wasn't sure I like it, but the more I ate the better I liked it. I think my issue was I boiled the potato rather than steaming it (I don't have a steamer) and lost flavor as a result. I can't really even call it a recipe: you steam your potatoes, add butter and chipotle puree. That's it. Next time I'll figure out a different way to cook the potato.

Went to OKC today so DH could take his mechanical contractors test......it lasted 6 hours 8-o (I went shopping...lol)
He passed with an 88!!!!!
I need to wind down and get ready for work tomorrow. Night everyone

Hi all. Well, I've done nothing but sleep all day today, but I think I'm feeling better. Delilah, let me know how the soup turns out. One comment though: For it to be Cajun, it really needs to include the Holy Trinity - onion, bell pepper, and celery. So if you want to be authentic, I'd add a stalk of celery, finely chopped to the pot when you add the rest for sautéing.

This one cracks me up! Who wants a "Marry Christmas" e-go? You'd think if they were going to exploit the holiday they would at least spell "Merry" correctly! How long until we see these on the deal of the day sites?
