Hi all! Hope y'all are having a great Monday.
Bert, what Sooner said. Can't wait for the sale!
I just got a shocking email: the University's closing tomorrow for weather. Why am I shocked? To put it into perspective, when Katrina was coming, the Mayor issued a mandatory evacuation on Monday. The storm hit on Thursday and the university didn't announce it was closing until Wednesday! Of course, I was long gone by then, lol.
Well I wound up making neither of my 2 choices in brownies yesterday. I went frugal: I had a half a jar of cherries left over and didn't want them to go to waste (I'm not one of those who put cherries in my cocktails, lol). So I made another batch of chocolate/cherry brownies.
Finally, I got this sent to me and I had to share:

Can't wait to see what you have in store for us!!!!!

My duties for the week are figuring out how to replace a broken microwave handle (how do you even do this)
DSC_0179_zpse952cce8.jpg
, finding a replacement bottom shade for this light
DSC_0182_zpseb71ba23.jpg
and buffing out the top of this one year old smooth top stove
DSC_0205_zpsc32b1e23.jpg
. I searched the interwebs and the handle costs 85.00 give or take a few dollars, finally found it for 45.00-the microwave is worth a bit over 200.00. Had to order a new light fixture-no replacement parts available :(. To replace the stove top is about 175.00, I am going to try and buff it out with a car polish…I have seen some you tube vids where they say this works-guess I'll find out soon. I am trying to help lower the cost of damages to our renter in the repairs.

Good morning guys. Haven't been around much lately cause I have a new puppy. Losing Dave left such a hole in my life I knew things wouldn't be right until I filled it. Unfortunately, this emotional decision was not wise, as this is a 15 month old puppy going on 3 months. This guy needs a firm hand and a lot of activity. Not really what I needed going into my final semester....I think some day, though, this is going to be a super dog! He's another Dobie, but not laid back like Dave. This is a guard dog! He does have his sweet side though. Hope to see more and more of that in the days to come. His name is Nick.

Hey Happy belated bday TJ!

Good Morning Trippyville,
It was -10°F this morning when I awoke and I just decide to roll back over and wait out the sun. It was -5°F when I left home having built a blazing fire in the stove to keep Mrs. Brew and the Cat Clan toasty warm all day. She'll have to feed it through the day but she woke to the main body of the house being 77°F and rising. The drive to work was pretty much perfect as every major business, school and government institution is closed due to the -40° to -50° wind chills but what do you know my company is fully operational (just like the Empire's Death Star) and expecting us all to be there. So I broke out the long johns, wool sweater, turtle neck and would likely be set to hit some powder with Bert and Beata. Just hoping that before too long we see some warmer temps. I feel for all the wildlife that haven't a bit of shelter. I heard my neighbor's dogs barking last night around 11pm and have to guess they are left outside to deal with the brutal climate. One of our cats spotted a stray, feral last night passing by one of the basement windows and I could only wish it would have come when I called outside the door a few minutes after the commotion.
I hope everyone else is weathering the week as well and I'm am getting fairly excited about the upcoming sale. Look to be some pretty awesome offerings based on what I've seen at TrippyTips.com. I'm due for some new collectibles but can't decide exactly which ones suit my RBAs. I used to be all about the donuts but the RBAs almost never spit so lately the tapers and peanuts win out to keep the profile small. I typically bring out the donuts for special occasions or when I want my other vaping friends to see how cool these Trippy Tips can be. Have a great day and week. Brew

I've had good news and bad news...

Good News:
We celebrated my mom-in-law's 90th last week! I love her to pieces and wish she had 90 more coming!

Bad News:
Learned this weekend that my birth mother is in a coma but there was no explanation how it happened. Stunning news to say the least. Please join me in praying for her recovery. Thank you.
