I think all you can do is let your dear daughter know what your position is on this and let her make her own decision. Not only may she not see this money again, but her big heart might fall into a money pit if she tries to fix this situation. Personally, I would probably give my X a piece of my mind anyway It really chaps my .... that DD will most likely help out while wife #2 does nothing to support her husband! Ugh!

Hz...... I've been sittin' here thinkin' about your situation.... I think if it were me, I would let her know that she could very well be going down with him for basically no reason at all. At some point she is going to have to take the grown up reins, and now may be the time. I hate it for her that he is laying a guilt trip on her, but at the same time she should be able to see that he is doing that with the intent of wringing money from her. Parents, at least GOOD parents would not do that to their child. Of course she is going to do what she is going to do, but I would let her know my opinion of it and that my resources were limited for future aid. I too do not think I would talk with ex about it -- their relationship is separate from you now. It is easy for me to sit here and type what I think because I might not handle it so well. My ex would have acted just like this - selfish, and deserving of a baseball bat upside the head. jmo......
