De, thats really cool! What type of plants did she have? I dont have a very green thumb and the way I am trying to do it with sand doesn't seem to work...i think I need to put a little bit of strategically placed soil and cover with the sand...lol

It's been so long ago now I cannot remember what all was in there. Just that it was beautiful and always made me think rain forest. It wasn't open like the ones shown earlier today. It had a top on it, plants were in soil, and you only added a little water, i think maybe once a month because it was kind of self watering, it was very humid in there, lots of condensation.

Gott get back to Alphas....Did the new Warehouse 13 while catchin up. You guys be good...except for Kami and I'll check back later. Brew

Haha I just watched both of those :D

Everything is good ... just tired from hubby last night ( :glare: ), mailed out 8 packages .... I feel for ya Bert, then tried to get a monitor for DD's broken computer, and couldn't find one anywhere that wasn't like $200.

Look into free-cycle groups for your area Blu, you might be able to snag something through them.. best part, it's free! lol

That's how I gave away my old ones, even got a whole refurbished computer system for my friend, nothing fancy but was way better than having nothing! moving boxes given and received, clothes given and received, baby stuff for my nephew, ect. I love freecycle It's quite helpful!

De - how can I make sure everything is off DD's computer before I recycle it?
I tried to connect it to our office monitor, but couldn't get anything to come up ....

Well, if nothing would come up on the monitor, the quickest thing to do would be to pull the hard drive, you can usually hook them up to something else to get everything you need off of them and to clear them out/fdisk them/whatever. I haven't done this with a laptop though, No clue if it's way different or not.... Might need the advice of someone who has actually done that with a laptop before...
you can get rid of them without the hard drive, whether to recycle them or to give them away to someone who likes to fix these things.

De - I can probably find a YouTube vid on it .... I was gonna put it back to "factory settings" but pulling the hard drive would make me feel better.
Then what do I do with the hard drive? Take it somewhere?

I still have my 2  But I was able to use them both when my desktop still worked... ok I guess that means I have 3 now and need a new desktop, or at least a motherboard and power supply lol

You would still need to wipe/reboot it if it is functional before sending it anywhere.... I'm honestly not sure where to take it though, some electronics places have recycling programs, check around locally I guess.

The hard drive should have a standard SATA or at worst and IDE connector and can be connected to a standard pc to retrieve data and burn to CD-R or DVD-R. If you have a Best buy geek squad nearby then I'd take it to them for that procedure unless you had a geek nearby like myself who could help you out. I take mine to a local shredding facility and have them shredded. I used to simply drill about (10) 1/2" holes down through the top of the drive passing through the platters. Only a forensics lab could do much with them after that process. Brew

Here is what I snagged up. Cosmic Pillar is a little bigger than I thought. Its a very unique color and shape, I'm diggin' it. Golden Sunset donut is pretty much exactly what I expected, awesome in every way I grabbed that Ruby Glaze Pillar with another tripster in mind, it will likely be leaving for its new home soon. Its going to be hard to let go, its a great tip :D I kind of have a thing for all glow tips, I don't recall ever seeing a honeycomb before Overall, this might just be my best ever haul
I really like the shape on that cosmic pillar. Nice score!

Yay for better techy people than me! LOL I totally forgot about the shredder people! But the drilling is an awesome idea too.
