So here a question for the rba users in the house. My zen is fantastic for about 4-6 hours, then I start getting harsh hits. The air hole is lined up, wick isn't dry. I can dry burn it and its good for awhile again but after about 3 days no amount of dry burning makes it smooth again. What am I doing wrong?

Bringing it up! I cant post in the zen thread to ask.

Hey Star -- I turn at 5:25 pm this Saturday. Good thing I didn't go to KY :D I ended up not doing any of the closets. Nephew called and family went and ate seafood for lunch, then came home and we've been drinking and swimming ever since lol. Ah, I love my frou-frou drinks!

How did you get the exact time?

You guys that said you included pics in your custom order......did you just use img tags? or links to the images?

Amber - I am not as sure about the silica wicks, I am more familiar with the SS mesh .... on the mesh the hits aren't as good if you get below 1/4 tank, capillary action changes, blah blah blah ...
On the silica I am not sure if the actual wick can retain a burnt taste if you happen to scorch it. It may be the same there also about the juice level. I don't get many dry hits, but with the SS tank on I kept it pretty full since I could never see the juice level.
Some folks say they change wicks every couple of days to every couple of weeks.
Personally I like the SS mesh .... been on the same Katana wick for like 3 months now and it's still going strong.

Amber - sounds like you aren't wicking well .... low vapor means not enough juice, at least if you're coil is firing. Take off your top cap, directly drip some juice on it and see if it's firing well and you get vapor that way.
If you do, it's a wicking issue.

What does your RBA look like? Like an Ody or Penny with the tails down the sides?

It's my zau. I think it's wicking. No burning taste. Might even be flooding because if i hold the button long enough it starts putting out, but still tastes harsh.

Evening Tripsters .... sorry for my lapse.

Amber - you are using silica in the ZAU?
Are you tipping it? I would tips it and fire in 5 sec pulses till the wick drips, then hold it there and continue firing every so often and see if you are getting good vapor production. Hold it with the wick slightly down, like at 4 or 5 o'clock.
That will make sure your wick is properly "carmelized". LOL

A picture of your wick/coil would help also.
